  1. hey Ozlime, I've got a set but not for sale. Besides, they are the wrong size anyway. Great set of wheels ay. You might want to try http://www.tempetyres.com.au/ they are by far the cheapest retailers for most things but you have to bargain to get the great deals they are famous for. They will better any price you can find. Not sure if they stock Simmons but if they don't they might be able to get them since the factory is only a 5 min drive from their store anyway. Incidentally, if you have seen that bodgy movie 'Fat Pizza' you would have seen a scene in their store. Cheers
  2. SilEigthy's are very sought after in most car cultures influenced by the Japanese drift market. Very popular here in Oz.
  3. Hey Gav, can you please pm me if you have the rest of that article. I've seen a few all out drag cars in the one digits from Japan. One of them was with an original (if you can call it that) N/A straight six donk. I'll see if I can find the dvd.
  4. :sleepy: You know what I mean.
  5. Will, My one is in mph and you will get used to it as many Z owners with original tachos have. The fit is perfect (close to anyway) and the look with all of the same gauges is great. I didn't fit them in so I can't tell you much more than that I'm afraid.
  6. All my gauges are replaced with autometer ones. The fit is fantastic (about 1mm too small but still fit in well) & people often comment about the fit. The tacho and speedo look great too. I'll post some pics tonight if I can find any.
  7. Yeah there's one sitting behind the tank pushing the fuel. It's pretty loud until the engine kicks over but then you don't notice it much. I thought about hooking up a choke but then I realised that I'll never really want to let the car warm up without myself in it so it'll be a waste of effort. The hole where the choke used to be looks a bit odd though.
  8. Swirl marks are very noticeable and it's hard to keep clean but it looks the goods when it is clean.
  9. Unfortunately my foot is my choke. I let the fuel pump feed some gas through the lines for about 5 seconds and then crank her over. Takes a couple of turns (I only drive her once a week if that so she's always cold). Hold the throttle at about 2,000rpm (stalls otherwise) for 1 minute and then let her idle. Builds up from 700rpm to around 950 in about 7 minutes depending on time of day (ie weather) and then we're off.
  10. Another desktop attack here. Cheers.
  11. Hey Rusty, welcome to the friendliest forum on earth. Money back guaranteed.:classic: Gav, just to throw some fuel on the fire (pardon the pun) Optimax has had some weak results for some time now. Many people advise staying away from it. I can only think of two reasons for this; 1. There was a bad batch in Sydney so it got a bad rep quickly spread on forums. 2. It really has dropped of in quality and Shell is riding it for all it's worth through their strong advertisement program. It is widely known that one fuel works great in one car while it pings in another so what some people have experienced does not ring true for others. For this reason I don't take much stock in what people recommend. Just try all the fuels and see what works for you. Whatever the case might be I haven't used it for a long time now. I stick with BP Ultimate and it works for me. I know the PULP they use is pure (at least I hope so) and not riddled with too many additives.
  12. Personally I'd love a single stripe (not as fat as the ones I've seen on most cars) on the passenger side. I haven't seen it done so it might look terrible but you never know until you try.
  13. Nope, some of us have to work. I've got cable but no guide so if anyone has it and knows when it's playing again... you know the rest. cheers
  14. Unless it's the 'race wars' out of Fast & the Furious. he he
  15. Can a dry cell battery be recharged? Mine is loosing power and I don't want to replace it if I don't have to. Cheers
  16. I've busted up a couple of them. Did one in trying to take off too quickly and it lasted another 3km when it popped out and started bashing the well. It did no damage though as I was only in first gear when it happened. Learned how to change them which was good. The seccond one happened in reverse. Don't ask me how but it must have been on it's last legs. It's still holding on though, just keeps making a loud cracking sound when I take off too fast. Had a bit of a problem with my battery yesterday and I had the local kids pushing my car trying to clutch start it. Well, on a couple of occasions it made a really loud crack but still held on. Go figure. I'm giving up on the uni-joints and will convert them to CV's as soon as the cashflow allows it. I really miss driving my car.
  17. he he. That's what I thought too but here I am still asking the questions. Guess I'm still an aprentice. These guys are a fantastic bunch so don't feel bad asking any question.
  18. Hi Ivan The RTA (Roads & Traffic Authority) is our governing body in NSW and their site can be found here. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/ Also might want to check the DOTARS (Department of Transport & Regional Services) here. http://www.dotars.gov.au/search.aspx Those two sites should have all the info you need.
  19. Hey Gav. Finally heard it. Sounds fantastic mate!
  20. Fantastic description. Although I do have to disagree with your V8 comment:cheeky: Here's a pic of my system.
  21. Like Mick said it's the width that requires mods. I remember asking one of the local tyre specialists what is the widest he could fit on my bog stock 240. He quoted me a comfortable 215 which is about 8.5in.

What makes you think it's not straight Gav? Is it the shadow lines that don't line up?
  23. Alright Hayden! Glad you found a Z mate. Enjoy:classic:
  24. Woot! I'm there less one 240 Make sure you let me know if you're coming down Gav. It's an exciting month in Sydney. For those that are interested in hi-po cars do not miss out on the Supernats at the Creek this Sunday the 14th. It's on all day and I advise that you turn up just before midday to see Victor Bray rip up the strip in his show/burnout chev.
  25. That's no reason not to own a particular car Rick. No doubt early Camaros are a beautiful example of American muscle cars but for mine it doesn't hold a candle to the Fastbacks. Pure porn.....
