  1. http://www.ratsun.com/ There are plenty of drag 240's. Especially in Japan.
  2. Keith, it is an LSD and thanks guys. Looks like my weekend just got busier. I'll most likely need help along the way so I'll ask when I (most certainly) get stuck along the way. Cheers
  3. That's what I was hoping. Thanks. I wonder what keeps on making that noise though. I thought the crack was the caps or joint breaking off and it'll only happen twice (one for each side) and then the shaft would come loose? Anyway, it's holding on so I'll just take it in to this driveshaft place on Saturday and see what comes of it. Might try to get some cv's made up. Cheers guys
  4. As some of you might remeber I snapped a uni-joint a short while ago. Last night I thought I did another one but now I'm not so sure. Here's what happened; I was giving the car a bit of a workout for about half an hour and arriving at my destination I put it in reverse to park it. I didn't accelerate really harshly as I was in reverse but I heard the same type of crack like the time the uni-joint broke. Anyway, I had dinner and proceeded to go home expecting the car to seize up any minute so I was driving well below the speed limit and staying out of the way of traffic just in case. Nothing happened until I was close to home when it happened again but this time it was in first gear accelerating up a hill. At this point I started to drive really slowly practically trying to creep it home before the half shaft came off. I got home safely and today I got under there to have a look but could see nothing wrong. I didn't check the drive shaft joints as I was running out of time so I just thought I'd drive it to see if I can snap it. Gave the car a thrashing in the forward gears and nothing happened. I thought I'd try reverse and I heard the same crack under heavier than normal load. Repeated it again one more time, happened again and then I gave up. Initially I thought it was the uni-joints but now I'm not so sure. Wouldn't the shaft have fallen off by now? And why would it make the same noise over and over, it can't be cracking over and over right? The only thing I can think of is the diff mount??? Any thoughts? Cheers ps, sorry about the story:cheeky:
  5. You might want to try searching for more information on http://www.hybridz.org
  6. Go in from the boot (trunk for our Yankee friends).
  7. L24 167080 Haven't done a dyno run yet. Been sorting out some teething problems. After I adjust the tappets I'll see what she gets.
  8. Hi Steve. Here's my bit My old 240 now living in Melbourne. If you want contact details pm me. I've also got pics of the plates if you are interested. HS30 100243 L24 131791 11/72 Orange, originally an auto, still running original engine. My new 240. HS30 102213 L24 N/A 06/73 Australia NSW, Sydney 18/07/03
  9. Yeah I thought the Blues might step up again to take the overall lead but it looked like their spirit was gone after winning the series. Shame they couldn't give the spectators a closer match although I'm sure all the toads loved every minute of the slaughter.
  10. The maroons absolutely tore them apart tonight. But we still won the series.:devious:
  11. I'm glad you are both enjoying it. It has to be one of the most rewarding sports around imho. I fondly recall how I got hooked on the game after playing for a short while. It only took one swing hitting the sweet spot, not feeling whether the ball was struck or not and seeing the little white dot rise and rise. I'm hooked for life! I'm about the same handicap. Used to play off a 25 a couple of years back but being out of practise I'd say I'm more of a 30 now. My only downfall is lack of power.
  12. Off topic. What do you play off Rick? I've just recently got back into golf (watching it on the tele:cheeky: ). Now all I have to do is dust off the clubs and get out there again. I'm going to join the local this spring and get practicing again. I realised how much I miss it when I held a club just recently.
  13. These guys might be able to help you Mick. http://www.sssautomotive.com.au/
  14. Rick, a girl logs on and you go gaa gaa. Stop taking those blue pills.:cheeky: Nice avatar mullLOL
  15. Amen to that. I call them Taxis Gav. I'm not complaining though. It's nice to know we got so many of them before the new import laws were put in place. I'd like to own a 32R in a few years time when their price drops considerably. I can imagine my kids buying these cars and calling them classics.:cheeky: I've never been one for drilling through the cones but if I ever come across a couple real cheap I might try it to see what it looks like. It'd have to be the clear ones though with the black surround. Oh, I just remembered that my cones are welded to the guards. Oh well:ermm:
  16. That's the one. Leeroy got it as well. How about this one. 3M TA3
  17. At least they are getting the engine right.:cheeky:
  18. Actually Craig, I've found that hanging around all my mates who drive Skylines and other such turbo/new tech cars talk in KW while all my older cousins and friends in the V8 circle talk in HP.
  19. Took me 10 minutes (damn 56k) while browsing other sites though but it was well worth it. Good looking site Gav. My criticism- Menu wasn't my cup of tea and the writing in the 'My 240Z' was a bit hard to read but love the growing effect. Anyhoo, any site with my car on it deserves at least a 9/10 :classic: Can't wait to see your second effort.
  20. Sorry guys and sorry Philip. I couldn't help myself.:cheeky:
  21. Don't forget you can supercharge the stroker so you will get instant boost if you don't like the turbo lag.
  22. Ok, so the guy might not have had too much taste but it sure does look like it has some potential. Alot of money burned on this car.
  23. Might as well mate. Just let me know before you do ok. Cheers
  24. Hey guys, say hi to Sven (read: Phillip) from Sweden. He was holidaying in Sydney and we met up. He's a really nice guy, inot photography and filming stuff and really into cars as well. He wants to buy a 240 but they are very very hard to find in Sweden and the import taxes are a bit high from the US so he's looking for something from within Europe. Can anyone help him? Anyhoo say hi to Sven everyone. His user name is 'mull' http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=4423 cheers
  25. Anyone going to the next meet (09/07)? Brett, still hanging to see you on the strip. What do you say, you wanna go? I'm as nervous as hell about my first time and if I run a 15 I'll be exstatic. The car (read: driver) won't be ready by the next meet. I'm just worried that I'll do another uni joint, the diff or the tranny. Everyone keeps telling me the Supra 5 speeds aren't the best box for hard launches so I'm really hesitant.
