  1. Nah, the majority of members are from the US it's just that us Aussies are loud at times.:classic:
  2. I'm really sorry but I was thinking central locking and typing power steering for some reason. I've edited my original post. Sorry.
  3. Steve, the guys that did the work are in Melbourne unfortunately and their name escapes me atm. I can put you onto the new owner if you want. pm me and I'll give you the details.
  4. The car was from Sydney actually. And you can bet a gold bar to a bent button that I'm happy with it. I just spoke to the current owner of my other car and he's very happy with it. Says the a/c unit is working great off all the old vents and everything else is fine except it needs a wheel alignment. I'm glad it's gone to someone who will look after it. Back on topic... (sorry)
  5. I thought he would put in the A/c. He was asking me about it and mentioned that he knew someone in VIC selling the kits. How was the car looking? He's taking care of it naturally?
  6. CB's are ok Gav if you use them right. I love them but only the hand held two ways. I wouldn't install a permanent CB unit either. They are the best tool when cruising in a big pack. Keeps you entertained and keeps everyone together. For $99 from Tandy, that has to be the best mod I've bought for my car.

Insurance really pushed me off the edge. I was paying $3500 at the time and just had an at fault accident which would have increased the premium. I did everything within my power to try to keep that car but my loan was increasing instead of decreasing so I had to get rid of it. That moment when I decided to sell it would have to go down in history as the most sensible thing I've done. I figured I'd still have the car for a few months as it was getting hard to sell them (try offloading a Skyline now, near impossible) but it was gone within the week. I've figured that I've blown way more than $100,000 in less than 7 years and still have nothing, absolutely nothing but a huge loan to show for it. You know what though. I couldn't care less and I've got huge plans for my current car, the chosen one, the one that is to be a keeper. Muaahahahahaha. Ok, so I'm getting delirious but... ...well, i've got no excuse.:cheeky:
  8. You've just answered your own question there. Either way you will enjoy it so don't fret about which way you will go, just go and get one.:classic: Btw, I installed electric windows, central locking and it was hooked up to the alarm on my old Z. To tell you the truth seeing as the car was all original it felt wrong after I put all those things on. Besides, it's just more electrical stuff that can and will go wrong at some stage.

  10. I was actually reading through this thread last night and was going to bring it back to life myself. Might need help with this if I don't find the time to take the uni to a shop. Mike, or a moderator, can you please move it to the Suspension, Steering, Drivetrain section. Cheers

:cheeky: Ever since I've started working I've been in debt because of cars. Easily over 50% of each pay for the last 8 years has gone into my cars. I'd love to admit that I'm exaggerating that figure but I'm not. At one stage I was spending close to 90% of my pay on my car (Skyline) so I had to sell it. My parents think I'm crazy. I know I'm carazy.
  12. So the lesson of the day is; If there is red/brown dust on the cap ends then the roller needles have corroded. Thanks for all your help guys:classic: I'd be lost without you all and paying some guy $50 an hour while not learning anything. I must say that working on the car yourself, even though it is a hit and miss affair in my scenario, is very rewarding.
  13. Umm, where does that go?:cheeky:
  14. So that red dust came about from the friction from inside due to lack of grease? Sorry, I just didn't fully understand your first sentance. What are 'needle rollers'? Cheers
  15. Steve, here's a pic from the other side.
  16. Well that is certainly interesting to know. Thanks guys. How often should they be greased up?

No problem mate. Btw, I've gone through stickdeath.com a while back and it was hillarious.
  18. Aaah c'mon guys, don't get all 'I'm too good to watch this rice fest'. It's all in good fun and there are some really nice cars in it. It's a movie where cars are the main character and God knows we could all do with more of these so vote with your bum and show the producers we want more car related movies. Just ignore the acting if you can. Mitsubishi wasn't the only major sponsor. Anyone else notice "Sparco" about a hundred times? You'd think that there are no other brands of seats, gearknobs etc in USA.
  19. Yeah it does have a nipple. It actually broke off so now there is only a spring hanging from the hole. Always wondered what was inside the nipples. I'm thinking I might just replace both sides with CV joints Ben. Will cost me more but at least I don't have to worry about it anymore. If I can find a cheap uni I'll whack that on for the time being so I can drive the car untill I'm ready to convert it. Cheers

Click on "User CP' which is directly under the Home link at the top of the page. Click on "Edit Options" which will be on the middle of the page. Scroll down to the bottom. The last section contains a grey button and is called "Change Avatar" Click on it. You can now either select one of the default avatars. Do this by pressing the radio button (little circle next to each pic). You can use one that is hosted elsewhere by entering the web address down the bottom. Or you can click on the browse button all the way down the bottom and upload one straight from your computer. Size is a maximum of 150 X 150 pixels or 500000 bytes (whichever is smaller as stated at the bottom of the last page)
  21. The launch must have clean broken the uni and then the force of driving it must have broken the other end and it poped out. Here's a pic with the brand name. The bottom line which is hard to read is GM8.
  22. I can't really answer that question but I'd say they were fresh in 1991 when the car was built. That is unless they had been broken after that and replaced. *shrugs* With some help from my father I took the uni and shaft out today. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Here's some pics. Now I need to know how to disconnect the uni from the shaft?? I've taken out the clip but I hit a brick wall after that. I found a thread about it here so I'll try it out another day. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6124&highlight=half+AND+shaft
  23. I've been sucked in by one of those, on a couple of occasions.

No problem. Things get taken out of context, life goes on.
