  1. arch, as much as a harness can help you in an accident it can also mean your death. If you were to pass out after an accident and a bystander comes to your aid they will know how to undo a normal seatbelt and get you out of a dangerous vehicle that can possibly catch on fire. If you have a harness they might not have a clue how to undo it... Harnesses are also built with different materials that degrade alot quicker with the help of the sun. That's why they have a shelf life. They are also designed to stretch a certain percentage (15-20 from memory but I'm probably wrong) because they are designed for high speed impacts where normal ADR belts are designed not to stretch as much and for lower speed impacts. The government is not as selfish and silly as some perceive it to be.
  2. Hi Steve If you have picked up the March Street Machine you would have come across an article on one Peter Barton from Melbourne who is a Mad Max freak. He's also a webmaster so he has a web site about Mad Max movies which is probably the definative resource for fans. Check it out at http://www.madmaxmovies.com As far as Running on Empty is concerned, it has to be one of my fav Aussie flicks. Didn't bother listing it as I didn't think many people would know about it. Some excellent cars mixed with some dodgy acting always = a great movie. Especially when one of the characters is an uber cool blind mechanic who tears up the outback streets with his missus as the co-pilot.
  3. Mad Max Bullit Italian Job (original, new one was good too. love them mini's) Matrix 2
  4. thanks guys nick, been around but just lurking. got work, tafe and a business to take care of. if that wasn't enough my parents are building a house so i'm pulling my hair out atm. 1genzed, that triangle tells the stewards of a race track that the battery is in the back as opposed to the front. mobsta, since you edited your q, i'll edit my response. otherwise i look like an idiot answering a q that isn't here. . the engine has been set as far back and as low as possible so it minimises the weight issue with such a small car. it has a nice enough balance. the engine is a 350ci.
  5. A not so sunny day at the beach.
  6. Close up of steering wheel and gauges. Notice the thing hanging off my cigarette lighter? That's my trusty dragon. Some people hang crosses for good luck, I hang my dragon. ps. I'm an avid St George Dragons supporter (local Rugby Leauge club)
  7. Side on shot of my z's interior. Notice the crappy centre console joint. The reflection on the windscreen is of a shift light that just hangs down since I had to take the front half of the cage out.
  8. Gav, Yeah I saw my old car for sale. I couldn't beleive it. Thanks for the link anyway and I'll definately get more vid's soon. We can have a doof doof off. echo, it's an .avi file so you need a divx player I think. Is that right guys??
  9. Those shows aren't about inteligence for me. I like to wind down with them and that's about that I guess. I must say I feel sorry for Steve Urwin. First week of the year must be really slow for the news corps to throw this around. They need to get over it real quick.
  10. :cheeky: My old beauty. How nostalgic. Seems like ages ago but it was only a few months ago I saw her drive off into the distance. She really is a nice car and I'm surprised Ian is selling her. Hell, I'm surprised I let her go so quickly. Goodluck to anyone that gives her a good home. Ps. plese don't ask how much I sold her for as I'm afraid I can not disclose that:finger:
  11. Thanks guys. I should have some more videos soon. Yeah they are Simmons FR18's. They also come in a 17" and the rear dish is pretty deep but not too crazy like some I've seen. As you probably know they are made in Australia (5 min from my home) and they do come in 4 or 5 stud pattern along with any offset you could wish for. Simmons are very well known for their custom fit if not for their range. At last count they had 9 different models only. Check out their home page for distributor details in the US. www.simmonswheel.com.au
  12. I actually love all those shows Rick. Sorry, I know that was below the belt. I'll go away now...
  13. Hey guys A mate of mine from Stockholm was over last year and took some footage of my car. He's actually on these forums as mull. Anyhoo, he sent a file over to me and I thought I'd show it off. :cheeky: It weighs in at 4.18mb. Just click on the link and then right click and save the 240z file. Hope it works. http://www.gamersfix.com.au/car Cheers
  14. Do they have an age limitation for releasing the info?
  15. Very true. Look what happened with me. I found a very nice 240 only to come across a hybrid I could never replicate in a thousand Sundays. There was no way I could pass up the opportunity but that's just me, ie I'm spoilt.:sleepy:
  16. He is a bit of a shy one. Well, not on here he's not. I met him when I went up for the Nationals early this year. I took a whole bunch of pics but none of him unfortunately. Not that I'd post one without his consent or anything. Carn Lachlan. What the masses want the masses will get in the end. You are just prolonging the inevitable mate. :devious:
  17. Hmmm. A Canberra car. I bet it's got no rust at all. It's good to see something like this on the market.
  18. I should note that I was looking at the lovely Shannon when I took the pic.
  19. Well, hey hey hey there Rick (and all). Thanks for checking up on me mate. TAFE is finished as of 2 hours ago and I'm on holidays for two months. Well, school holidays at least. Still have to go to work Nice thread you have going here. This is me reading your thread....
