Do I want anything from a 1991 300Z
The local PnP just got a 1991 300ZX. Is there anything on there that I can use to upgrade my 240Z? Thinking rear brakes, diff, tranny...etc.... Thanks in advance.

Retro Sound Install
Glad to see that the company stepped up with a new face plate. I was just curious to know if you got the ABS I sent you and if you thought that might have worked if a new plate was not available.

Hi Arne Thank you so much for your continued dedication to this project. I am still in, I don't remember which I ordered, but I am still in. I wonder what these would look like with white letters as opposed to black....... Thanks again Jerry

Parts Store Fun
My specific example has to do with a Toyota truck as opposed to my 240z, but I walked into a local AutoZone and asked for a clutch with throw out bearing. The counter guy asks with a straight face is that a manual or automatic transmission? I just walked out.

Libre wheel rehabilitation
Hi As of yet I have not found one or two at a price I am willing to pay. I am watching a set on ebay. I will keep looking as I hope you will as well. If I find a set I will certainly post it here on this site and on one other where I have posted this request. Hopefully you may think of me if you find a set first. Feel free to contact me with your find and if price is agreeable I will help with finances up front as well. Thanks and keep looking. Jerry

british su carbs?
Hi I am an MG guy as well as a Z guy and when I need work done or parts for SU Carbs the company to see is Joe Curto. He is very well regarded in the MG scene and is a terrific supporter of the car hobby in general. He makes a donation to our annual car show every year. Thanks Jerry

Libre wheel rehabilitation
Thanks Arne, I have sent pictures and an email to Terry's. In a perfect world, I may find someone here on the east coast to save on shipping, but as of now I have only found people advertising west of the Mississippi. Maybe someone will suggest that perfect stealth place close to home here in upstate NY. This board is by far and away the best resource for anyone who ones a Z. Thanks again

Libre wheel rehabilitation
Hello all, I recently acquired a set of A/R Libre wheels and they need some help. My question for all the knowledgeable folks here is what is the "correct" color for the painted center portion of the wheel. Mine have obviously been repainted by the looks of the drips and runs. The next question is how much of the center area gets painted? I think that I see a parting line where the casting gets rougher below the spokes. Finally can anyone recommend a reputable shop to take care of the one wheel that has some curb rash on it. As always thanks in advance.

1971 Interior question
Hello My 1971 240z Came to me without much of an interior. The original exterior color is white. It came to me with white bucket seats. What else should or shouldn't be white (door panels, vinyl trim, etc)? I have seen pics of white seats with everything else black and pics of white seats and white door panels, everything else black. Are either of these trim combinations correct? Any advice welcome. Thanks

Spare Tire Cover
I have access to a cnc machine at work. If someone posts a good drawing that I can import into photoshop or autocad I can cut them all day long. I would only need to be reimbursed for the lumber. Please only ask for personal use. I would do this for board members, but not so people can sell them on ebay. Let me know.:pirate:

I know that I am late into the thread, but there was a special version at K-Mart as well. It is similar to the white and yellow witht he stripes, but the car itself is gray. Later

Tracing a VIN number
Thanks for the sad info. Based on the knowledge you have expressed around this board I am sure you are correct, but it is sad to hear. Thank you for your response.

Tracing a VIN number
I currently own a 1971 240Z. Prior to this I have had and still have MGB's. With an MGB you can write to the British Motor Heritage Trust, and for a fee get a certificate that tells you how your car looked when it was made. Exterior color, interior color, any factory installed options, etc. Is there anything available for the early Z's? Is it as simple as going to a dealership and running the VIN? My 1967 MGB was red with a black interior when I bought it and it's history shows that it was black with a red interior, white wall tires, and a luggage rack when it left the factory in Abingdon. It also gives you the chassis number, engine number and drivetrain number in order to tell if your cars numbers match. If anyone has any information on where to find this out it would be greatly appreciated. As always, thanks in advance and may your holiday's be filled with your fondest wishes and good tidings. Peace Jerry

shuffle off to buffalo
I got clobbered. 3feet of snow and no power till who knows when. Lost almost every tree on my property, but thankfully no major house damage or people damage. Just have to start cleaning up and getting on with life. Ed do you belong to any local clubs? I joined the Rochester club, but I have heard rumors that someone is trying to start one in Buffalo. Any thoughts? Glad you escaped the nasty stuff. Always good to find a local on these -boards Later

Old school 5 slot Mags.
There are many Z's out there with the classic 5 slot aluminum wheel out there and I do like them. I have two sets in about equal condition. Both sets are 14x6 if that helps. One set is made by a company called Appliance with what appears to be a push through bullet shaped center cap that is rusty on the inside, but nice on the outside with a big A on the end of the cap. The other set has no center caps and has four small hole drilled and tapped around the center hub for what appears to be a screw on style cap. I know very little about the wheels themselves but they have writing on the back that says; Cal Shelby 500. The slots are a little different between the two sets but I like both. My question is this; Is one set more period correct for the car than the other? Is one a dealer option or are they both aftermarket? Any information or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
