280zxTurbo Crank trigger needed fast!
I have gone through most of the yards here in Phoenix Az with no luck. All i can find is NA cars and turbo car shells. What would I need to do to use that distributor? Does it have to be off a turbo car? If all I need to do is splice a few wires Im all for it.

280zxTurbo Crank trigger needed fast!
I need the crank trigger on the harmonic balancer. I dont know if it is part of the balancer or what. If you have one you would like to sell please let me know. 81" 280zx tURBO intake removal
No picture will be necessary, but thank you. I finally got the piece of crap off. I went to the store a bought a small make-up mirror and used it along with a flood light so I could see the bolts. I guess I was lucky that the bolts were in only finger tight, but I would not have to be doing this if they wern't. Thank you for your help Owen

81" 280zx tURBO intake removal
I am relpacing the intake/exhaust manifold gasket on an 81 280zx turbo How does one remove the bolts on the under side of the intake?

no tach with crane ign.
My tach would jump all over the place when I installed a crane XR 3000 along with the PS92 coil in my '72. I had to pull the tach out and clip the white pick up wire on the back of the tach. It is originally looped through twice, but if you loop it through once it will work again.

sorry, i dont have a digital cammera, but they look simillar to Webers or minkunies but with a fast idle intake on top of the float bowl.

Besides the Zcar, what are your favorite cars?
I love my Z, but I am a Mopar man at heart. I have a 66' Satellite 2-door with a built 383 backed with a 727. I also have a 67' Monaco 4-door also w/ a 383 that I am currently turning into a custom lead sled. Now all I need is t find the 60's Powerwagon I've been serching for and I will have a car for any mood I might be in. Sports Car, Muscle Car, Custom Cruser, and 4x4.

Motorsport cam failure?!
I did buy the whole kit so the guarantee stands. They have gotten back to me already and seem to be cooperative so far, so I hope I dont have any issues getting compensated. The main thing I am worried about is where did all that metal go? Just my luck it is collecting in a mainbearing or something that will end up causing something very serious to happen when I am the farthest away from home.

Motorsport cam failure?!
Has any one had any issues with the cams sold by Motorsport? I have recently bought one and it has been nothing but hell. First, it took over four months to get here. The people that grinds them forgot to drill and tap the sproket bolt hole in the front of the cam and now the piece of $^!# went flat on me. Not the whole thing, but the first 3 lobes. I know the thing was getting oil and it was in adjustment. I installed it my self, with help from my boss who is a Nissan master tech so I know it was done right. I'm hoping to get my money back and go somewhere elese so if anyone has a good reliable sourse, please let me know. I am frothing at the mouth in angher right now and probably need to run around the block before I do somthing I regret. :mad: :devious: :dead:

L24 rods on L28 crank.
it would not change the length of your stroke but change where it takes place in the cylinder, giving you higher compression. One thing to check is piston/ valve clearance.

How obsessed are you?
I have come to realize just how big of a part my car is in my life. I got my job at a Nissan shop so I could provide it with parts for cheap. Every paycheck goes into it is some way or an other. Just the other night I was talking to it on the way back from emissions testing. It wasn't just a few comments of so, but a full on conversation on what I will do for it if it stops giving me hell. I am not driving it right now and i feel like I am neglecting it and feel bad every time I look at it sitting there so eager to go fast. Just last night, I had a dream where I was driving it to speed world (local drag strip) and was driving like a raped ape through sun city (retirement community W/ 35mph speed limits and the great great decaying population) I woke up before I got to where I was going, but it was still good. I guess my obsession with my Z goes deeper than some would call healthy, but everyone need their fix.

The Fast and The Furious
I will wait till it comes out on pay per view to see it. One thing I did notice on the preview is the part when the Mustang gets run over by the semi trailer is the view between the trailers, the car is a 2003 body style and the scene from the side the car is a 95 body style....... I love it when movies like this come out and motivate kids to do things to their cars. It gives me more game to hunt. :rambo:

SOOOOOO Close to passing (kind of)
Well I took my car to get tested today. I was shure that I would fail, but I needed a base line to start with. I expected to fail pretty much all around with my current set up of unsycronized, out of tune tripple delortos and a nice lumpy cam. As it turrned out, I passed on everything but HC's at idle. I got 941 out of 400 (cough..cough) but I figure I should be able to squeek by if I sync my carbs and do some fine tunning and more alchohol.

Where's the competition?
Right now it is a stock block L24 with an E88 head. 6-1 header into 2.5" custom mandrel bent exhaust. Triple Dellortos on a port matched cannon manifold. Crane Cams XR 3000 ignition with a PS 92 coil. I installed a five speed that was in a '76 280z that I picked up for parts and am running 4.07 gears. I'm waiting for my new cam to show up (should be this week) and also currently building up a L28 that I am going to swap over the head and other stuff over to give me a bit more displacement. I've have also rebuilt my suspension and plan on installing some coil overs later on. There is probably some other little stuff that I forgot....but that sums it up.

Where's the competition?
Saturday night, a few friends and I went to the local drag strip (Speed world, Az) because we caught wind of an import -vs- domestic competition. It was kind of sad really. Neither side was very well represented. The only imports that showed were the typical Honda garbage and a few WRx's. They only managed to muster up 16-14 second runs. the domestics were just as slow. There were a few impressive runs like the SVO mustang (2.3ltr turbo) that ran a mid 10 and a '68 Charger that ran a respectable 13 without as much as a chirp from the tires or a rumble from the exhaust. I cant wait till I am done with my 240.....

Electronic ignition
Have you looked into the kits made by crane cams? I run an XR3000 ignition system with a PS92 coil and love it. It is an easy install into the stock distributor, the only thing is, you need to modify the wiring into the tach for it to work right. There is a wire that loops through the back of the tach twice, and you need to cut it and loop it through only once.

Tuning my new triples
Well I finally got my triple Dellortos on my car and now for tuning. I need to modify my syncro tool a bit so I get a tight seal, but I need to know what venturies and jets to use. The car is my daily driver and is used mainly on the freeway. Here is a list of the things that the motor does: -wont idle -stutters off the line -wont hold a constant rpm (starts stuttering and rpms start falling off) -dies when I let off the throttle like when exiting the freeway and acts like it is flooded out. The truth be known, I dont know where to start. I know very little about these things, but I am looking for a book on tunning them right.
