Z Radio - "Datsun Hitachi KMS-2511Z"
I just got my hands on an old Hitachi radio that supposedly was the stock AM/FM radio in the 73-76 Z car?? It supposedly works but unfortunetly, I do not have the plug and colored wires to plug into the back of the unit and I can't seem to find any info or parts or schamatic for this model anywhere ( even online????) .I figure that somebody out there must know something bout this radio or at least enough info so that I can build my own plug and color code the 6 wires ( + the 3 wires for the antenna) HALP!!!@!

There is another "guy" on Ebay that is REAL REAL PROUD of his Z-parts! he's called "Z Connection" ! I can't believe that he gets what he "ask's" for his NOS stuff??? A long time ago I was in the car business in Texas and we used to have a saying: "Where Two FOOLS met"......Him for askin it...and the other guy for payin it !! Guess that if one has a "show-car"...( TRAILER QUEEN), one MUST pay the crazy prices... What works for my 71 Z (95% of the time) is that I own 2 additional 240Z's there just for parts!

Small point! Ther is NO "1978 Datsun 260Z"! The 260Z was only made for 1 year which was 1974 and in 1975 the 280Z was the one!

Actually, second owner. Was torn between a Z and an American Motors AMX! A friend at my base sold me his Z cause he was still into the BIG V8 with little or NO handling and brute power in a straight line, gave me a "deal I couldn't refuse" ! Six months later I also bought a 68 383 Road Runner ( beep beep),wish I still had that one too! Have always loved my Z, a big mans car ,handles well and is more than quick enough! +++ SUPER EASY to work on,everything is right there ! Mine's Orange too!

As a new member, let me try and introduce myself. If my "handle" is one that you may have heard, then that tells me that you may have "vacationed" ,as a young man ,on a government "all paid vacation" in beautiful ,tropical Viet Nam. The term "Twoelouie" was Viet slang for a young American G.I. that had too many Viet girlfriends ( can one ever have "too many girlfriends" ??) As a matter of fact my 1971 Z car is my "survival present" from my year spent there! I am from Schenectady/Brooklyn N.Y. and now live in Denver, Co. I work for the govt with Job Corps and collect older cars ( 1967 Olds Cutlass ( convertible) ,1973 Chevy Caprice ( convertible) , 1983 Chevy Z28 "Crossfire" T-Top car and a 1979 Datsun F10 Sportwagon) ! I also coach Football ( defense). I think that you'll find me to be rather "plainspoken" person as I say what I feel and ( try to) feel as I say!
