  1. I'm think it might be causing the fuel pump to cut off intermittently during start up causing a hard start issue but like I said I can't remember when they switched over from the fuel pump cut off being controlled by the afm to being controlled by the oil pressure.
  2. There could be an issue in the afm. I can't remember exactly for the 78 but the 75 has a connection for one of the pins that kills the fuel pump when the vain isn't actuated. Does it look like the cover for the afm had been removed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I am finding all of these suggestion far too practical, serious, and sensible. My suggestion is a flux capacitor, time circuit, lightning rod or a Mr. fusion; which ever seems like more fun to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do any of you wonder what happened to the days when scammers used to put real effort into their scams so you could at least appreciate the amount of effort they put in to relieve you of your money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I found the bullet mirrors at this website http://www.mooneyesusa.com/product-p/gt001.htm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I was thinking of changing out my Side view mirror from the MSA flush mount mirrors that from my experience can only be used when the car isn't moving, which is not ideal. I'm trying to decide between a set of 4" Bullet style mirror or possible a set of Yana Shiki motor cycle Mirrors. I'm leaning towards the Yana Shiki mirrors cause I want to mount them further forward than the stock position so I don't have to turn my head much to look into them. Plus the Yana Shikis have convex mirrors as opposed to flat. I just want a few thoughts to make sure I'm not hopping over that fine line between genius and insanity. 7. Any update on the locksmith? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm thinking he has a few young children that are more interesting than his broken z car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If he is a locksmith worth his salt and the pins are just worn and nothing else he should be able to make them work as good as new Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I wish I don't have enough time or money to work on it. I'm managing some major repairs on one of my mom's rental properties and don't have the 2 or 3 month's it would take to get the car painted and back together.
  11. I'm spending my summer in San Antonio and check a craigslist auto's from time to time to pick up parts I might need later on. I saw this post http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/5108139230.html The car is completely striped and on a rotisserie with all of the rust repair already done except for two spots on the floor pans. From the pictures he has everything and is offering it all with the rotisserie for only $1300. If that isn't a good deal I don't know what is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Have you checked how much it would cost to have a locksmith to redo them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Every manual car I have ever driven has felt different to me, some I have loved and others I hated. It's really down to personal preference as long as nothing is broken. Though that being said your clutch peddle adjustment can make a big difference on how the gearbox feels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Waytek sells the the box for about $30 depending on which one you get and its features. But you have to buy a bunch of other bits and bobs to set it up so I will end up costing around $50 to $100 once it's all tallied up. http://www.waytekwire.com/products?pSearch=RTMR
  15. the RTRM has room for just 5 relays and 10 fuses
  16. this might be a little pricy but how about a Cooper Bussmann RFRM and custom build your own really/fusebox? http://www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/bussmann/transportation/products/power_distribution/power_distribution_modules/series_15400_rfrmrear-fedfuserelaymodule.html or a RTRM http://www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/bussmann/transportation/products/power_distribution/power_distribution_modules/series_15300_rtmr.html
  17. Do what would make the car more enjoyable now until you have the money to make a hefty upgrade. So I would go with fixing the suspension and the electronics. That should take you up to if not a little over the $3500. also, reversing the words of the house of stark "summer is coming" which is the best time to enjoy the car.

  22. you could try sanding it all down to about 1/4 of and inch and glueing high density closed cell polyethylene foam on top of it. Shape the foam so that it looks stock. then glue new vinyl onto of the foam. link to polyethylene foam http://www.yourautotrim.com/1thevaclcefo.html?ref=lexity&_vs=google&_vm=productsearch&gclid=Cj0KEQjwl_6oBRDHxNGz6ueJufMBEiQAvm_k_sd6bI4UD0vEVjUNYznpt3OhoABLwZOkFoFDDYJQYm0aAgXA8P8HAQ
  23. awesome build. wish I had that kind of motivation. If you're still looking for a horn button mechanism, call Oliver from the datsunstore.com. he sold me one last November for about $40.
  24. that all depends on what you consider normal driving ::
