  1. VA gave me a hard time about registering my car too. [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well my thinking was since you had a grove in your drum that it was heating the gas causing the sequel either way you should see about having them turned or buying new drums. Also check to make sure that you breaks are properly greased Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The 240z a/c was a dealer add on. But they did have a factory heating system. You will want that when your windshield fogs. If you don't want the a/c just sell the idler pulley, condenser, evaporator, and a/c compressor with lines. But don't expect to get much for the pump because it didn't come off a working system. Does the squealing happen all the time or does it get worse the more the brakes are used? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If you are going to rebuild it yourself switch to flat top Pistons for higher compression and a little more pep. But if you're going to have some one rebuild it for you go with either Datsun Spirit or Robello Racing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Honestly the only way I see making that body structurally sound is to weld up a tube frame chassis/roll cage that takes on the stresses between the front and the back of the car. Then go threw the middle of the care cut out all the rust and weld in new metal. But by the time you have done all of that you could have bought a 240z or a 280z in much better condition 2 or 3 times over. That is only considering parts and equipment you will need to accomplish the task, not the labor. You can buy a 280z and make it look like a 240 much easier and cheaper. 7. ummm It looks like your 240 has rusted in half. The only thing keeping that care from collapsing are the windows, roof, side windows, and possible the drive train.
  8. Call over to Datsun specialties if Oliver doesn't have the part you are looking for no one does http://www.zspecialties.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. the dmv now days doesn't really care about any car made before the institution of the 17 digit vin number in 1981 as long as the number doesn't come up stolen. When I registered my 280z they gave me a whole bunch of grief because my vin was too short. I had to tell him that he can just add zeros to the end of it and the computer won't care and neither would I. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Wow that dash looks to be in pretty good shape compared to the rest of the car. Love the test gas can. got milk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Or you don't want to go deaf earlier than might otherwise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Oh, mine wasn't a kit I went to a custom exhaust shop with a mandrel and he welded everything. See link in post 4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I don't really understand the question. If you are asking if you can put a magnaflow muffler on the MSA system then yes you can just have to find the right size magnaflow muffler. Only problem I would have with the MSA system is I will probably have a drone because there is no resonator or glass pack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hmm I remember taking the pictures of it but I guess I didn't pull them off my old phone before I gave it to my mom to use when she is overseas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My muffler is a magnflow but when I got my car done I just told him what I wanted my car to sound like and he said alright I can do that I had it done at this shop in VA http://robertscustomexhaust.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Honestly for a little more than the price of that system I had a custom 2.25" stainless steel mandrel exhaust system put on my 75 280 for $350. It's one piece back from the header with 24" resonator in the middle. It sounds like a low rumble at idle and you can nearly hear it when cruising at 70 mph. But when you go full open throttle it howls like crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Io think if you had a set of these it would look better than it already does http://www.dapperlighting.com/products/dapper-lighting-7-classic-black-series-projector-kit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. And no one thought porsche would make a suv or a 4-door and we have both now. Companies will do anything if it means they can make more profit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. my bad forget which one is which sensor did what, always found them to be redundant. you can take out the thermo time switch and place it in some ice water and then put it back and and try or just jump the wires for the theme time switch with a 10 ohm resistor and the cold start valve should work.
  20. ummm if you want more adjustability wire up a potentiometer in its place and you can test what it behaves like at different temperatures. A 10k potentiometer will let you test it between -20 F to 90 FSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You don't have to wait to test your csv all you have to do is unplugs your water temp sensor and it will behave like its 30 below Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Nope it's a metro grab ring that used to be on Japanese metro trains Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. oh I almost forgot, check if your battery leads are bad or not you should measure the voltage drop across them while the engine is cranking. If the drop is more than 0.25 Volts there is either a bad connection or the leads are bad, most likely there is a bad connection.
  24. Well Looks like you either have a problem with your battery or the starter, there shouldn't be more than a 1 or 2 volt drop between battery voltage and the voltage at stater when cranking. Check to make sure you have good clean connections at the starter and make sure the battery cables are in good shape. I can't remember if you had your battery tested or not but i suggest you stop somewhere and have it tested when it is fully charged.
  25. Did you measure the voltage at the starter when cranking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
