Still working on all the rust repairs. Does anyone have the proper procedures for removing the fenders off the front of the 240? Thanks

Yes I have, I am now looking at the price for all new cores and heater valves, etc. Since I have all that out thought I should fix that too. There are spots under the hood that will require some welding and metal replacement. So on it goes. It might be a full restoration before I finish.

Well I got it out. It took me about 2 hours. Hopefully, it will go back together without too much trouble. The prior owner had replaced the A?C with 134a. So there was no need to have it "evacuated". Now all I have to do is finish the metal replacement. So much fun. This car has been a classic example of "if it is too good to be true it is too good to be true" But on I go.

Have tried to search the forums looking for info on removing the heater and a/c box from inside my 72 240Z. I need to remove it so that I can finish the rust and rot repair on the passenger side of the car. Didn't know which forum to post this in so if there is a better one please let me know. Thanks!

Here are some pics of the welder. There is a spring between the knob and the washer. Thanks

Need some help. I have started having a problem with the spool on my welder Clarke 130EN. The nut that holds the wire spool on tightens up as the wire is pulled off the spool. I have to stop and loosen the knob. Not sure what is happening or why it started. Any help and quidance will be greatly appreciated. It has really slowed down my floorpan installation.

Well I am moving along with the floorpans and am almost finished with the passenger side. Now I need some help sourcing some exterior body panels. I need to fix the rocker panels, bottom of the door, the dogleg, and the rear quarter panel. Looking for a good source for these parts.
  9. Thanks for the info. I am lucky, I have a 60 gallon 3.5 HP compressor but best of all, I am retired so I can work during the week. "Ain't life grand"
  10. Thanks alot, how do you clean up and dispose of the paint and blast media? how long does a tank full of media last? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to learn about the process. Again, thanks for sharing the pictures.
  11. I have a question for esmit208, saw your post about the sandblasting. Curious as to how you are actually doing the sandblasting. Saw the blaster I think you posted from HF but how about containment, reclaiming the blast media, etc.?
  12. What about the Metal-Ready?
  13. As I continue to replace the floorpans, etc. on my 240Z, I have two more questions. First, I have some areas in the back area around the seatbelt anchors where I can't seem to get down to clean metal. Someone told me I could treat it with metal ready and weld the pans to this area. Another person told me I should be using flux-core to weld wher there is the leftover rust. So I guess, the real questions are Metal-Ready Flux Core or not?
  14. In the picture I have attached, it is the point where the floorpans attach.
  15. Looking for a source of inner panel sills. Does anyone have a source for these?
