Sealant, Grease, Antiseize thread
Mostly just some of the products are different, the applications are very similar, Permatex Aviation Form a Gasket or Three Bond 1184 Moly 60/Honda 60 spline grease Permatex Ultra Black sealant RedLine Assembly Lube Paste, doesn't drip off, you can put the engine in storage for 10 yrs and it is still ready for start up. Molly Slip Copaslip, copper based anti seize

Paint Stripper Beware
One product in particular that is commonly found in garages is Brake Cleaner, they are starting to produce milder versions but if it smells like dry cleaning fluid that is the Tetrachloroethylene. It's is pretty nasty on its own but if it is used as a metal cleaner before Mig or Tig welding it will react with the Argon and produce Phosgene gas...the stuff used to kill thousands in WW1.

Another unfinished project for sale in WA
@Terrapin Z, it seems like most of the Z's that have survived are up in the PNW these days, you could start a permanent thread called Treasures of the Pacific Northwest Actually it could be a good resource for current and past prices and a bit of history of cars that seem to pass through a lot of owners before finding a committed restorer. I appreciate you posting these ads, it's like window shopping.

Stainless steel hard brake and fuel lines vs standard steel hard linesl
Beautiful work, with that kind of show car detail your Z is going to be stunning. I'm guessing they want you to tighten and loosen the connections so many times because the SS is harder and needs to be tightened multiple times to make a good seal? As I remember there are about 22 connections in the brake system so 132 times of open/close, that's a few hours work. Great results though.

Intake manifold paint removal
Well that is better than the guy I know who painted absolutely everything in the engine bay white, everything, one trick pony. Yeah bead blast will have that nice and clean in no time.

Imagine that!
Uber had a test going here in Toronto so it could work with cold, snow and salt but all of their tests are on hold now.

Oil in Strut Tubes?
So it sounds like you over torqued it but that comment about it looking hollow kinda freaks me out, I would remove every bolt they included and throw them in the garbage. You can buy quality made bolts from Fastenal, Brafasco or Mcmaster-Carr.

RIV Inspection
As long as the car is 15yrs or older nothing is required except a safety certificate, the same you go through for your daily driver and that doesn't have to be done until you register the car with MTO. RIV is really all about keeping Canucks from jumping over the border and buying a new car for 30% less than it sells here.

Well there are a number of guys and companies that will do it for you but they charge a lot, you can just drive down to the States with a friend and drive it back yourself as long as you have all your documentation and have given the border office 3 days notice and copies of the ownership and bill of sale. You can save a bundle of money and have a bit of adventure at the same time. By the way, Welcome to this forum, all questions are answered here The local Z club is here http://ontariozcar.com/ozc/ and you could search that forums archives on all the details on bringing a car over from the U.S.
