Not Z but it's a hard to past up the opportunity
It's quite something isn't it? I'm tempted to buy it for no other reason than its so wonderfully bad, even calling it a rat rod is an insult to rat rods. I'm sure I could pick it up for a song.

Car Shake 2017
A V6 in an F1 car I long for the sound of those screaming V10s.

Spark Plug Wire Routing
A mechanical engineer for a son, I gotta get me one of those. Brilliant idea, simple and they don't draw attention to themselves, very clean. You could make those on a 3d printer for pennys. Sell as many as you can before someone steals your idea.

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
Just talked to Jody, he spraying the car tomorrow and says I can take the car home this Sunday. I actually found an image of a Z with my colour, I just found this by following links. My car won't have fender flares or blacked out chrome but you get the idea.

Referencing another member
I've noticed that you can reference another member in a post and it shows up as the members name in a blue box, how exactly do you do that? I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Thanks, Chris

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
yeah but don't you think it also looks kinda fussy, like too much effort was put into it? He cleaned up my rookie bodywork on the P/S inner fender where the radiator hose goes so that's good. The engine bay is so full that not much of it will be seen anyway. It's a couple of shades darker than the first Z with some green and blue undertones, wait til you see it in the sun, with the windows tinted 30% it will look like a sleek weapon ! It is a funny but most people either love it or hate it, I'm in the love camp.

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
Finally got some progress pics from Jody, looks like he has filled in some of the seams in the engine bay which I asked him not to do. This colour grey is a little darker in person then it is in these pics, should have the car back in 2 wks.

Low miles, original paint 280z
My goodness, when I said between $10- $40k I thought I was choosing a number that was so high it was obviously ridiculous. I'll bet the seller is in pleasant shock at the moment.

I'm probably wrong but it looks like the very early just AM radio with the built in antenna switch.

Datsun 240Z 1972 Restomod from Germany
I had the car on a rotisserie so could weld from underneath on the inside and outside of the car, also a few tack welds around the outside of the panel that was hidden with seam seal.

Every owner added their unique personality.
I know, I know, I'm the last one who should talk about adding personality to a Z but at least I remove everyone else's before I apply mine, this car looks like an accumulation. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-datsun-260z-3/

Crashworthiness of a 77 280z
Hope your buddy heals up soon, how did they get him out? I don't see any cut marks from all those tools the firefighters carry now, maybe they actually got the passenger door open. If that same collision had happened to a 240 or 260 I'm sure it would have had a very different outcome for the passengers. I have heard people talk about the crumple zones that were built into these cars but I have a hard time believing it was much of a consideration before the 280z's came out. The early 240 was basically a large beer can and it wasn't I think until 73 that they started adding reinforcements in the doors. But you are right, it's a topic that isn't discussed much, I guess because really there isn't much you can do about it .

Eibach Progressive Springs
I bought these dark grey Eibachs from MSA about 5 yrs ago, I also had the rear end droop that Eibachs do sometimes on the early 240Z's so had to add a .75" spacer to even out the car.

Datsun 240Z 1972 Restomod from Germany
That's too bad about the delete plates, I have no experience with that guy I just saw how nicely fitting his pictures are on his website. The thing about metal that is that thin from rust is it's very difficult to get a good weld on it without blowing holes in it and the more you cut out the bigger the job of trying to match the original stamping curves. It depends on how original you want the car to look when it is finished. I have done that rear hatch deck panel twice now, one I patched and one I replaced. I was not happy with the look of the patched one even after lots of grinding, filling and sanding, the replaced panel looks great, hard to tell it from the original. Looking forward to your update!

This has Captain Obvious all over it

http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-3/ 6 days left, anyone want to put up a guess for the final price? The way the prices are going I'm going to state a firm prediction of some where between $10,000 and $40,000
