rear driver side brake stuck
That other wheel cylinder will probably have the same amount of carp(? couldn't resist) in it, even though it is not leaking it's worth cleaning it out and inspecting it.

Grinding Weld Beads - Recommendations, please
Yes they do, Charles, do know if they make a bit for aluminum? I've tried the carbide bits on aluminum and spent the next couple of hours picking out of the cutting bit teeth with a dental pick.

Grinding Weld Beads - Recommendations, please
A 4" grinding disc followed by 60 grit disc and if it is visible 120 disc. If what needs grinding is in a tight spot then the die grinding bits.

Bring a Trailer Experiences
The payment was a wire transfer to my bank, I signed the ownership over to him with a bill of sale and couriered it to him over night. There was one hitch though, back in 1970 the MTO recorded the VIN wrong by adding an extra letter, no one had noticed the mistake until the transport company started processing the paper work. So I had to hire a certified appraiser to come out and look at the VIN on the car and the ownership papers (Title for our US friends) and sign a paper saying yes the VIN was recorded incorrectly. MTO then issued me new ownership papers with the correct VIN. Classic cars go back and forth over the border all the time, just have all your paper work in order.

I sold a 1970 240z to a guy in California through ebay, He hired a cross border transport service, they came to my door loaded the car and delivered it to his door, very easy me.

Rear Spindle Pin
Glowing red is good now have him crank the press up to about 60 ton, that is usually where they pop.

Trouble shooting
Other than the plug colour, no, there are no other signs, no pinging. I've always believed that you could get a good plug read on much less than that although I could be completely wrong. The lean looking plugs are the same ones from post#44

Trouble shooting
I'll give that a try tomorrow, thanks.

Trouble shooting
So have started the engine multiple times now with no repeat of the problems, starts first try every time. I took the car out for a 10mi. run today just to push it a bit, see if I could break anything, it is running like a champ so when I got home I pulled the spark plugs to see what was happening. Looks kind of lean to me, not at all sure how to make it a little richer with an AFM.

Advice for selling
Was very glad to see the owner was allowed to have a higher reserve, I think it got to $14k which isn't near enough for that beautiful 280.

Just what the Doctor ordered. 1977 280z
I was just writing the For Sale blurb and realized that back at post #152 I forgot to mention that I did end up having a valve job done, all the seats were great but on second accessment there was 3 exhaust valve guides that were just on the edge of needing work so had the whole thing done and the bottom milled flat, I'm hoping that helps up the compression numbers a bit.

Advice for selling
Hey Hank, I didn't know you were on here. Yes, Hemmings is a venue I hadn't considered, just had a look and was impressed. Does anyone know about the Hemmings auctions? There is an area to submit your car for auction but no real auctions going on that I can find. You get 35 full size photos with the online ad but only 5 photos with the auction? If I just go with the online ad then I have to come up with a solid price

Advice for selling
So when is the best time to sell a Z? I guess it isn't late July or Aug., or is everybody so well connected these days with their phones that the summer lull doesn't exist anymore? Just finished the 280z I have been working on so time to put it up on the block to fund the next project( I still have the 240z and will never sell it) The selling venue, ebay is where I sold my first 240 and although the guy who bought it was a bit of a nightmare I did pretty well on it. BaT is hot these days but they always want a low reserve to ensure a sale and it doesn't happen very often but I have seen guys in the peanut gallery go on about some imagined fault to the point of wrecking the sellers auction by planting doubt with possible buyers. Any suggestions or coments? Thanks

Just what the Doctor ordered. 1977 280z
Thanks guys, that's where it goes but I really should have asked that question BEFORE the dash was installed, lying on my back in the P/S foot well using this, AGHH

Last part in the box to be installed, any ideas? I thought it was somewhere under the dash on the P/S but can't find any logical spot for it.

78 280z turns off with turn signal/reverse lights
It sounds like the reverse switch is shorting something, there are two solid green wires from the reverse switch, one goes straight to the reverse lights the other goes to the voltage gauge charge light, the low fuel warning light, the flasher fuse in the main fuse box and the hazard switch. ALL of the connectors in those two lines should be pulled apart, inspected and cleaned to eliminate them as a cause. I'm using the wiring diagram for a 77/ 280z

She's road worthy! Just took it out for an illegal run up my back road and it was beautiful. I had forgotten how nice a stock car is, so tomorrow I need to tweak the wheel alignment on the front and torque down the control arm bolts. I was hoping the rear end was going to sink a bit more and that 2 mile drive did the trick.
