Photobucket Rant - They SUCK
"Too many Datsuns in this town" I've never heard that song, Neil has always loved big American cars.

Photobucket Rant - They SUCK
Well, your nuts IMHO Neil got me through so bad times when I was young he's almost saint. But then people go on about The Who and how talented they were, I could never stand them.

My 1971 Datsun 240Z
I'm just north of "The 6" as Drake calls it, great looking car, I see you have Skilards new splitter and rear diffuser, how do you like them? Have you tried a high speed test yet? The Ont. Zfest is coming up on the 23rd of July, being held in Hamilton this year, everyone would love to see your car, there will be lots of other Zs there. http://ontariozcar.com/?ai1ec_event=z-fest-sunday-car-show&instance_id=650

BBQ
Charles, now you've done it, it's hard to go back to a propane grill once you tasted what hardwood charcoal can do for the flavor, nice unit. Happy July 4th

Crap Chinese Tool Gave Me Flag of France
McDonalds has been using that principle for decades, make something that looks like food but isn't really.

Gotsta gotsta have it.
That's mighty nice of you Cliff, and I agree that it certainly isn't polished. Well, I'll need $1200 purchase price, $600 for a tow to my place, then I'll have to find an engine, a milk crate for a seat and some tail lights, so go ahead and deposit $20,000 USD to my Paypal and I will blast it down to ZCON 2018 for you complete with the largest moon roof ever installed . Shipping??! I'm driving this sucker.

Anyone done business with these guys?

This is a real ad, not making it up, http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/barrie/1989-datsun-z-series-coupe-2-door/1261454436?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true It is a 240z. Not sure the year. (1969 to 1972) The car has been sitting for a few years. No roof! I do not know the year of the car. The fenders are ok. The doors look ok. No engine. The transmission is there I think. The interior is not there. I do not have the ownership. I do not know too much about the car as I am not a Datsun guy. I can get more pictures if you like but it will take a day or two as the car is at the family farm. In the Elmvale area.

To buy or not to buy...that is the question
You got a good deal, it's in great shape.

What gauges to use?
Well finding good working original gauges is not hard, they were very well made and if originality is important you should try to sort yours out, if you want aftermarket you can't do much better than Speedhut. You can customize them for many different looks and functions or go for a period look as well, these are mine a little of both.

Leaking Heater
Because Photobucket owns them now and they want you to pay to have access to their property.

I can tell you it is pretty awe inspiring to stand next to this car, there isn't a square centimeter anywhere that doesn't have the same kind of detail. Gold Medallion judges better sharpen their pencils if this car ever enters the competition. I'm back at Careless's shop on Monday, I'll poke the camera into some hidden places and see if I can find a flaw.

Photobucket Rant - They SUCK
I have been bouncing around all my favorite forums today and seeing that damn photobucket image everywhere, tens of thousands of threads are virtually useless now, all that great work in the archives... lynch them.

sweatys rebuild
You have to back off the mounting screws to that perfect torque that keeps the screws from vibrating loose but slack enough to allow room for the plastic cap to sink into the door panel enough to snap over the clip. At least if the screw does back out it will be captive within the cap until you start over, I have tried just a little smear of sealant on the threads in the past.

Anyone done business with these guys?
http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/240z.html It is quite a catalouge and good prices, any reviews?

[SOLD] FS: 1973 Datsun 240z
Looks very promising, more photos of its current condition would help a lot, missing the windshield, photos of the floor with carpets pulled back... show the strengths as well as the warts.

Wanted: 240z (preferably modified) - Cash Waiting
Not at all, just post in the modified section.

I was at @Careless's shop today giving him a hand with the windshield and vinyl trim, thought some of you guys might like to see the progress.

Seafoam spray through carbs ?
Well, that's disappointing! Seafoam was just about the only 'Mechanic in a Can' product I purchased because I thought it was different. Just goes to show how powerful the placebo effect is. Thanks for popping my bliss bubble

Seafoam spray through carbs ?
I usually throw a can of seafoam into the tank once a year and it keeps things pretty clean but if I have an engine that I know is crusted up with carbon I'll either spray it in or let a vacuum hose suck it straight out of the can until it drowns the engine, let it sit over night and start it up again. Stand back cause you will be in for a smoke show, I guess I am assuming that all that smoke is the crap that the seafoam has loosened up overnight but I have no proof other than I have used the stuff to clean carb parts and it does a great job.
