Carbs or what ?????
That's strange since with triples 2, 3, and 5 would all be fed by a different carb so I don't think they are the problem. Just to be clear, the timing order is 1, 5, 3, 6, 2, 4 -correct? I'd first check to see if you're actually getting a spark on the problem cylinders.

paint code location
I recall peeling mine off before getting my car painted. I could never read it since it had been painted over by a previous owner. Instead of paper or foil mine is more of a thin foil-looking plastic.

My New Cold Air Intake
The image is hosted offsite (in this case by imageshack) so classiczars.com doesn't even know or care about the size of the image. Your browser downloads a page from this site, parses the html, finds a link to a jpeg, downloads it and only then decides "wow, this sucker is 1600x1200, let me widen everything to fit even if I have to add a scrollbar at the bottom."

As far as I know they're all black.

Where can I get a second set of keys?
Do you have original keys? If so they have a code on them that will allow new keys to be cut to the original specification. If not you'll need to have yours copied and as everyone knows a copy is not quite as good as the original. If the Nissan dealer can't help I've seen keys for sale on eBay from locksmiths who are willing to cut to code. Here's one such example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-RH-KEY-BLANK_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40016QQihZ015QQitemZ250227559881QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Gas Info...BS or Helpful?
Total BS - likely from someone with no understanding of economics. If suddenly no oil was imported from the middle east to the US then two things would happen. All other suppliers would have to dramatically raise prices because they couldn't keep up with demand. However, the suppliers in the middle east would have to lower prices since their market would be suddenly diminished. The net effect of that would be other countries would start buying from the middle east and prices would balance back out due to market demands. All of the oil in the world is more like one big pot that some countries fill and other countries consume. Also, for those somehow convinced that we import all of our oil from the middle east we actually produce about 40% of our oil and import the remaining 60%. In terms of total imports more comes from Canada than all of the middle east countries combined. More comes from Venezuela, Algeria, and Angola than all of the middle east countries combined. More comes from Mexico and Nigeria than all of the middle east countries combined. http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/company_level_imports/current/import.html

Another introduction and a question
I'd never even heard of it so I had to look it up. This article is a few years old: http://www.hcn.org/servlets/hcn.Article?article_id=14621

Turn signal lever is clicking....
This doesn't sound like anything that can be fixed without opening it up. Clearly it's caused by the mechanism that cancels the turn signal after straightening out the wheel. A minor adjustment is likely required.

to fix or not to fix...
When you started this thread you mentioned that you were about to give the car a tune up. That is still a good place to start. Your timing may be off or you might need new plugs, cap, rotor, points, etc. A compression test is easy to do if you have the tool. Here's an example available at Sears: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00947089000P

Wish I could have such luck selling on eBay!
If you use windows you can use the free PrimoPDF which is a printer driver that creates PDF files. In the case of an eBay auction you'd just tell your browser to print the page and select the PDF driver instead of a normal printer. http://www.primopdf.com/

Ah, of course. I obviously focused on the attachment without paying enough attention to your post. Sorry.

to fix or not to fix...
Which 3 plugs? If the problem plugs are the front 3 or the back 3 it could be carb-related. It's possible that the oil is actually unburned fuel.

Nice low mileage '78 on Ebay
I note that the car is located in Lenexa, Kansas which happens to be where Black Dragon Automotive is located. I wonder if there's a connection?

My 240Z....Headed Off For Paint!
Looking good. Did you get any instructions on how long to wait before wet sanding? My painter specifically said to leave the car outside in the sun for a few weeks to help speed up the paint curing process.

Anyone from Jackson, Georgia?
In "Advanced Mode" type in some text like "this car" Select that text with the mouse and then click the "Insert Link" toolbar button. A dialog pops up and asks you for the URL.

The speedometer has 160, we have took it to 155mph.
It's quite easy to calculate the theoretical top speed of any car if you just know the red line, gear ratios, and tire size. Horsepower and the drag coefficient has nothing to do with it. If you're in top gear and at the red line then your speed will be X, regardless of anything else. Horsepower and the drag coefficient are what determine if you can even get to that red line. This is simply the first Google hit for "top speed calculator": http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/tyres.html I don't have the specs handy but someone can easily plug them in for a 240Z and let us all know what the answer is.

Anyone looking for a new 280ZX Turbo?
It appears as though the buyer mostly buys clothing on eBay and of the three negative feedbacks two were for vehicles (Karmann Ghia and Ford Explorer).

Spare Tire hold-down T-Bolt thread pitch
A while back I bought a cheap wood lathe at Harbor Freight just to play around with. While at the store I noticed some metal lathes. While I've never used one they appear to be capable of cutting any kind of thread you need. Here's an example of the Acme thread: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acme_thread_form Obviously getting a spare from Arne is the way to go ... even if you could find the proper thread you've have a hard time with the handle part. Here's a shot I just took of mine.

Anyone looking for a new 280ZX Turbo?
I wouldn't be too concerned about that particular part of the description. I suspect it was copied and pasted. After seeing this car and many others (9 immaculate 240Zs - 4 of which are "vintage" Zs) I have absolutely no doubt about the authenticity and quality of the car. Here's a picture that I took less than 24 hours ago right after the eBay add was posted.

Poor #299: Not for the feint of heart!
The title issue is only a problem for certain states. Here in Georgia you don't even need a title for anything older than 1986: http://motor.etax.dor.ga.gov/motor/titles/required.asp
