  1. Well, if you find an error on Wikipedia then you should certainly fix it. 151 is the value given in my factory service manual for '72. The L26 is listed at 165 in my Haynes manual and I'm sure the L28 was at least that high.

Any sunroof is aftermarket. Datsun didn't supply anything like a sunroof until the 280ZX which had t-tops.

I think it would be better to run them to the air cleaner as was originally intended. If the needle valve gets stuck open the float bowls will start overflowing and can start spilling fuel directly onto the exhaust manifold. Routing it to the air cleaner will hopefully cause some of it to be sucked into the engine although some might also drip from the air cleaner onto the manifold.

I've always considered burning oil to cause blue smoke.

I sure hope that the car is simply on jack stands and the wheels are not actually attached to the car.

Many? As I recall only the radio and the blower motor have inline fuses. If the clock is not running I'd go with the overwhelming odds that the clock itself is simply not running.

The lines to the float bowls are not vacuum lines but rather fuel overflow lines in case a needle gets stuck open on the inlet side. While they dump the overflow into the air cleaner they really serve no real purpose.

As far as I know Black Dragon sells the Precision aftermarket weatherstrip kit and yes, the door weatherstrip is all one piece.

The barrel switch in the doors is the only switch involved here. It may be a bad ground at the switch itself. Use a thin blade to pop the switch out. You'll see that, on the driver side, there's only one wire going to the switch. Use a jumper wire to directly run that to a known ground and see if it lights up. If so, the switch itself is not grounded properly. If it doesn't make a difference then you'll have to trace it from there.

Unless you're using a cleaner wax then waxing just adds a layer on top. I'd start out with something mild and work your way up if it doesn't work. There are various polishing and rubbing compounds. I've used the "fine cut cleaner" from Meguiars but they have plenty of products that can help you. Another option is a clay bar or wet sanding. You could start with 2000 grit wet paper without worrying about doing much damage. http://www.meguiars.com/estore/product_list.cfm?&sectionname=Professional%20(Mirror%20Glaze%20Brand)%3EAuto%20Paint%20Care%3EPaint%20Cleaners/Compounds&sectionID=31301
  11. Here's the source: http://www.tygon.com/Data/Element/Node/Category/Category_edit.asp?ele_ch_id=C0000000000000001208 240ZX mentioned clear tubing but hls30 shows something that is yellow.

Kats, I just noticed that your 432 has a tie-down hook on the right rear corner. I was under the impression that these were only used on cars that were exported via ship. Can you clarify?

Consider the possibility that he doesn't know much about the cars and is hoping that you'll basically haul off the earlier car. Since the 72 is less damaged and ran recently he might consider it more valuable. I'd offer $750 for both cars and see what happens.
  14. Welcome. As has been said here many times before rust is the most serious problem with these cars. The mechanical stuff is relatively cheap and easy. Using the search function on this site will likely find previous posts that will answer most of your questions. Be sure to post some pictures when you can.
  15. Victor, can you give a ballpark cost for this? I know they say they'll call you with an estimate once they receive your tank and inspect it but if it's going to be $1000 or more I wouldn't want to even send it.
  16. As I recall you can jack the car all the way up, use a spring compressor, remove the three nuts at the top of the strut assembly, and simply swing the whole thing down just barely clearing the wheel arch. Hopefully someone who's done this recently can confirm as I'd hate to give you bad advice.

I view simply it as a reaction by the people of France to some of the problems brought on by your previous governments. At least in democracies like ours the people can decide to make changes such as these. I'm am a bit surprised by the pro-US stance although I think it's more due to his economic views mirroring our capitalist system rather than an endorsement of the US itself. Hopefully it will improve the situation in your country. What is your impression?
  18. Yes, but while driving in hot weather. I'm impressed with your 25 degrees. What was the outside temperature that day?

If it runs fine at higher RPMs I don't see why the fuel pump wouldn't be fine at idle. It seems to me that a failing fuel pump or other fuel delivery (i.e., clogged filter) failure would cause the opposite problem. What is your idle speed? Can you keep it from stalling if you give it just a little gas?
  20. Stephen obviously has far more experience in A/C systems than I do so you should certainly listen to his advice. Strangely enough the factory R12 compressor in my daily driver 240SX failed after about 6 years. I had my regular mechanic replace it with an R134a system at that time and it's been blowing 40 degree F air for the last 11 years. One thing to consider with A/C in a 240Z is the effect of the blower and duct work. It really doesn't move much air. You'd probably do well with the Honda blower motor upgrade in addition to a new A/C system.

All of the suggestions I've seen involve covering the strip with some sort of chrome foil, either a metal tape or something like mylar. There have been previous discussions here about this very topic. A search should turn up plenty of results. EScanlon at one point hinted that he had a solution but I never saw it.

I wouldn't call it sloppy if you spent your time visiting cathedrals and such as those truly are 'sites'.
  23. MikeW replied to Go240Zags's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Based on your picture I think you meant "sights", not "sites".

Doesn't this depend on how much power is lost in the transmission/u-joints/differential and possibly drain from components like the alternator, etc.? Those numbers would certainly vary depending on which components your car has installed.

You're pictures are likely too large. I believe the size limit is 1 MB and 1280x1024 for JPG files.
