77 2+2 louvers from a non 2+2
Will this work? I'm trying to find louvers for my 77 2+2. Another member of this forum contacted me, but his Z is not a 2+2... are the hatchback windows the same size? BaTora

Engine bogs at ~2500 RPM. PLEASE HELP!
I had this exact problem this week. I have a 77 280z, four speed... I didn't read through all the threads (sorry), but I scanned to see if someone mentioned what I'm about to. I don't think so, but apologize for repeating if I do. The problem was in the TPS. I didn't have to open it, just pop off the clip and use a q-tip to get it dry. You should also check the injector clips, because they too have a cup-like shape that holds water easily. Once I dried out all of these, my car ran great! If that doesn't work you can google the TPS to find out how to open and service it.

76 2+2 body kit
Once you stray from factory... I think you have the freedom to take it anywhere you like. A bud light can could look really cool if done right. Red and black are safe colors, and there are some real cool blues that would make your car look liquid (I love the Z in blue). I've seen some nice metalic orange ones too. Go to Google, click images up at the top of the page next to search. The page will now only show pictures of your search. Enter 280z and you will get tens of thousands of images to cruise through for ideas. I have a 77 2+2, and at first was really interested in a body kit, so I can't wait to see pics of yours and to hear how it went!

New Paint pending, should I get rid of the rubber door guards? 1973 240z
I like how Oiluj’s fade into the color of the car… but I don’t like how mine sticks out and I will take them off when the new paint happens. I think that once you get yours painted, it will stand out enough that most people will know to be careful near it. You’ll probably also alter your parking habits for a while (maybe by just a few spots down where nobody else is), and that should take care of the rest who would give you a ding. The two big questions are if you like them, and if it’s a daily driver? Since you don’t mind them, it’s just a matter of how often you sport your Z.

240z External Hard drive..
As a mass produced gadget... maybe not, but as a place that you can store the back-up of your important files... pretty darn cool as an idea to build on.

Can do this, and what’s that?
Thank you very much! I look forward to getting my Z into shape, and I'm sure you'll see me around here quite a bit...

Can do this, and what’s that?
A new coil was recently installed, and it is too small even if the clip is fully closed. I put two hardwood pieces that I painted yellow in for spacers. Would this work for now as I get other issues dealt with? Also, I am not sure what this wire is for… any comments or help would be great. BaTora

After a wash, won’t go over 2,700 rpm?
Hi, I wanted to clean my engine and the compartment yesterday. I picked up some spray from AutoZone, and was careful to cover and tape the coil (pulled the main wire to make it easier), the battery, and the distributor. I sprayed, let it sit, scrubbed a bit, and rinsed. I used a towel to wipe down, and then removed the tape and coverings. The engines started fine, idled fine, and I thought I was on my way. I took off down the street, but as soon as I got to 2,700 rpm’s the fuel seemed to simply shut off. It didn’t die, but picked back up around 2,200 rpm’s. I limped back home and found that some water got into the fuel injector clips. I took each one off and cleaned it out (blew what I could, used a bunch of baby’s q-tips to wick up the water and dry the unit). Unfortunately I had the same problem, and now the next day it’s the same thing… I can start up, and idle. I can drive if I shift gears early and keep the rpm’s down. If I am parked and simply open the throttle, it cuts at 2,700 and picks back up at 2,200… over and over and over. Help please. BaTora

77 280z 2+2 given new life in Napa
Hi, I live in Napa, CA (an hour north of San Francisco). In the early 80s I lived in Japan for 5 years, and although I went through 13 cars (buy, fix up, sell, move on), it wasn’t until I was back in CA that I bought my first Z. It was an all red ’72 240. It was lots of fun, but way back in ’86. Last October I picked up a ’77 280z 2+2. It was non-op when I got it, but it’s already my 3 year old son’s favorite activity… riding in daddy’s Z car. BaTora
