I know that really gives the 10 percent off, FelipeA, but sometimes Oliver at Z Specialties will give you a better price if you say you belong to this site or zcar.com. Sometimes, I just think it's the price of doing business if you don't get a discount at a certain place sometimes.

Arne, to have a Nissan dealer who doesn't mind looking up old numbers. Our local dealers have trouble finding an oil plug washer when I take my 78 in for an oil change! I'm resigned to just bringing my own in now!!! :stupid:
  11. My wife and I got there about 7 am and the weather was a tad chilly. Turned into a beautiful day though. I havent seen the final numbers, but I thought there were fewer entries and fewer vendors. The people who sell the Z clothing like jackets and polo shirts were nowhere to be found. Also, Freeway Datsun was not present, and I think there used to be a vendor who sold toy cars. Nevertheless, had an awesome time. I wish they would enforce the "no revving your car while being displayed" rule, lot of jerks around me in the 280Z section. Also, missed the 510s, did they stop allowing those?

and they know if they keep giving discounts, they'll get all of us in large volume orders which more than makes up for it. remember to comparative shop when buying parts. Even when you figure in shipping from such sites as Nissanparts.cc, courtesy nissan and datsunrestore, et al, sometimes the MSA price is not always the best deal. something to think about.
  13. will be bringing her 1972 and let's just say it's going to look, um very different, than from how it looked in this thread about 18 months ago, It'll still be a Work In Progress, but come by and see us please! It'll still be the 112 Lime Green! http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28671&highlight=rust+hatch+240z

An XR700 is going to be very hard to get and you might wait weeks to get the part. Crane cams is out of business and it might be complicated. Pertronix works just as well and is cheaper.
  16. I always get nervous when I see a Z sitting out on a grass field. Can't be good for the underbody. That interior looks almost new, dash, console, etc

Well landing another XR700 looks out of the question. With the demise of crane cams everyone (including MSA) are back ordered or NLA. Thanks to Aaron at MSA he suggested going with the Pertronix system and a new single point Nissan distributor. 125 for the dizzy and 80 for the pertronix and our 240Z runs like a new car!!! If you have a AT like me, youll need to switch to a single point dizzy and install the Pertronix. not hard at all. Also added new NGK wires to go with the NGK plugs!!

I'm looking to buy a 1972 240Z near South SF and I'm in the Riverside area. Will anyone be willing to take a gander at it for me? It looks like it's in pretty nice condition. The guy who is selling says one of the carbs needs to be adjusted. Please PM me if you're interested and we can set something up. I would truly appreciate this favor and I would have no problem paying for your time and gas. Thank you, Nick
  23. I'm going to call the tech Line Monday morning and damn I hope they have someone there who can help me!:ogre:

to trim it to fit. Get a very sharp x-acto knife and trim where you need to trim. A friend of mine got those aftermarket panels from Datsun Spirit and he said this is what he had to do to make it fit. good luck
  25. Just got my XR700 from Amazon.com today and lo and behold we're missing a part. It's called the "Mounting arm" on the Marelli diagram. It's kinda a long piece of metal that attaches to the Optical Trigger in the distributor. If anyone has a spare one lying around, i would deeply appreciate if you can ship it to me. I will pay a fee if required. Thanks Nick
