LD28 Complete disassembled
I always wondered if the issue was due to the stroke. An L28 block needs added clearance once you go to the LD28 crank. I think the LD28 has a larger clearance for the bigger stroke as well. As for value, very few people will be interested in the LD block, rebello might buy it from you so give him a call. I just bought an LD crank in great shape for 1100 shipped. shipping was $100. I think this is a fair price for the crank based on the current market.

240Z Shortblock $50
I would be willing to give you $50 if you could get the conrods out and send them to me in michigan. Would take the block but no need and shipping would be stupid.

Looking for a clean 240z in Detroit area for photos
I definitely want to go to the car show in roosevelt park, but I looked around on google and can't even find a site with any info, like what time or anything like that. I missed last year and was pretty sad about that!

Looking for a clean 240z in Detroit area for photos
Hi, I'm getting married here soon, and me and my fiance are going to do engagement pictures. She is well aware of my passion with the Z car and so she suggested why don't we take our engagement pictures with a classic car or datsun. Since neither of my cars is exactly picture worthy, I am reaching out. So if anyone with a nice 240z in the area would let us take some pictures with their car I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't need to drive the car or even hold the keys to it, just want to take some pictures. We have a photographer for this sunday afternoon so that'd be the best time. We could do some shots of the car alone so you can have some nice pictures of your car as well. Mainly looking for a 240z without too many modifications. Thank you

E-tek RACING '71 Parts Car Resto
When I bought my Front frame rails from Charlie at zedd findings there was a mistake in the price which caused me to pay $40 dollars in brokerage fees. It seems that there are no fees if the item is valued under $200 US (watch the conversion rate) Charlie reinburssed me for that in form of a discount on a set of floor pans which was great of him but it is something to watch out for. I also have a z car buddy in Windsor that I can use to have parts shipped to him, which works as well and vice versa. So if any canadian guys in near detroit need to have anything shipped to a US address to save on fees, let me know. Glad to help Z guys!

My 1970 Datsun 240z
Hi, I was actually the first caller on this car, almost bought it but in the end I was lacking the funds. Looks like a great car and I wish you a lot of luck with it! I have the original radio out of my January/70 car, I will not be using a radio or at least the stock radio in my car so if you want it PM me. Again congrats and welcome to the Z family... it's sort of an addiction

Camshaft Oil Spray Bar Redesign and Rebuild
This is slightly off topic but even thou the major belief is that all the oil spray bars are identical through out the years, look at this one I pulled off a 1976 fairlady Z. It had an e88 head thou and I don't believe that was stock on the L20. It seems to be a stamped block design rather than a cast, not sure on how well this works but there is no wiggle in any of the tubes.

What is the most "sensible" trans swap?
I'd say if you can go with the 5spd, it makes interstate driving much more pleasurable. The only modification i know of is that if your car is still a series 1 than your shift lever position is different and you would need to switch to the series 2 center console. Other than that the 4spd and 5spd transmissions are interchangeable. Not sure about the drive shaft length thou.

Did you strip the underside before applying the undercoat. My plan was to get the whole car media blasted before applying underside coating, paint, etc...

#00655 Build Thread
All I'll say for now is that I have not send for the tow truck yet, and will take some time. Meanwhile if I can find a drivable s30 in the area I'll be all over it. I feel that I need to remind myself of why I am doing it.

#00655 Build Thread
I was hoping you'd chime in as I know you have a lot of experience. As far as making the surroundings better, it's not that easy. I am renting, and it was a fight with my landlord just for him to even allow me to have that heater in place. That garage needs a lot of work, and perhaps you're right it would definitely make the place be a more pleasant place to work. And I was expecting a 3 year time frame on completing the car just not sure that I can wait that long, and if i get another Z that's "rust free" to drive i'll just neglect this project. But thank you for the kind words, I am still not fully determined as what to do, perhaps I need to step back for some time.

#00655 Build Thread
E-tek ... I'd say mine is worth about the same as a '71 .... I don't have the matching motor, my car came with a '73 motor. Mike ... Until now I have not replaced any surfaces that contain crucial mounting locations. I will have to locate the tension but there are dimensions available for those. The frame rails that I received from Zedd had mounting holes for the cross member already predrilled. I used some simple channel iron to make sure the frame rails are spaced properly, parallel and in the same horizontal plane. The dimensions for the frame rail width can be gotten from the service manual. Having said that my build thread might end here, I am no longer seeing the end of the tunnel...I ran into an issue with alignment of my fabricated fender well piece the firewall and the frame rail. But even if I figure out how to solve the inner-fender/frame-rail/firewall interface, I still have to replace the floors, the inner rocker panels, the outer rocker panels, full rear quarters, both rear inner fenders and the rear hatch panel, plus the car was rear ended so there is a slight bulge in the rear floor. When done, i'd like to track the car and I think that through each corner I'd be wondering if I welded each seam correctly... My goal for the car is to have a fun sports car to take to track days on a sunday. I don't really care to have a low vin car, i would have been happy with a 72 or a 73 but when i was buying i thought it would be great to make this one survive. If anyone is close and is interested in taking over pm me, else the car may be scrapped.
