I put a universal on the driver's side in front of the radiator. Works well and prevents messes.
  4. For all those with the original style paper/cardboard glove box insert (left image) in their 240z, I found a cheap and easy way to upgrade to a plastic insert from a later 280z (right image). I picked my used 280z insert up for $10 on ebay a while back. Here is the picture of what I started with. A huge cut in the back of my cardboard insert from the prior owner. Its only gotten bigger since I've owned the car Old and new side by side. The 280z plastic insert will need to be trimmed to fit. There are various approaches, I chose to trim just the bottom tab and the made a new hole for the glove box door arm The finished product is much nicer than what I had in there originally. I did need to mount the glove box door first and then slide the new insert in. I also put screws into these front holes to hold it better. I probably could have trimmed down the side tabs as well and use the original holes, but this seemed like a much more secure way of mounting the insert. I will probably look to finish the bottom edge better and possibly heat the plastic to shape it better.
  5. Here's how I did it (including my writeup on making the factory up/down switch work): http://jarvas240z.blogspot.com/2015/05/amfm-antenna-upgrade.html
  6. Overall looks like an ok plug to me, maybe a little on the leaner side, but a lot of that has to do with the quality of fuel being used. What do you get in Panama? Is it leaded or unleaded? Is there any ethanol in it? Whats the octane? Are there any additives to the fuel in your country?
  7. I like the simpleness of the Redneck Rottissarie (wooden), although I'm not sure about its strength, I'd also like to be able to move the body outside to blast the bottom & then back in.
  8. Factory fog/driving lights go off when the high beams go on. I believe this satisfies NTSA regulations Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

  10. I just mounted 100watt driving lights (8" round) on the front of my 240z and I only fire them up when there is no one around and it's super dark. On my xterra the fog lights default to on when the headlights go on, but they're low wattagr Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  11. That's what I was thinking, especially given that this was a Texas car for most of its life. So far so good on the gasoline smell problem. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  12. So I just installed my new fuel filler neck with a genuine Nissan hose. The new one was significantly longer than the old one (3+ inches). The new one fits great, just curious if anyone has run into this before? I'm hoping this will resolve my gas smells as I've already replaced all the vent hoses! On a related topic, I feel like I'm running very rich although as per the piston lift check mine seem be set correctly. I've been running premium 93+ octane and wondering if this could have something to do with my gaseous exhaust as the higher the octane the slower the Burn. I'm thinking of going to regular (87 octane) for my next tank. My question is -- can the wrong octane cause challenges with air/fuel mixture settings?? Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  14. My BRE original style one has the raised area for an emblem. Got it from BRE2.net
  15. I've got a set of 4 with brand new tires on them. Probably wouldn't be worth shipping, but I'm in Chicago Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  16. You mean this one...
  17. I'm about to dive into switching from my '72 R180 (3.36) to a 200sx K-R180 (4.11), requiring the button swap. Anyone have any spare buttons or a "bad" differential around that they want to get rid of? Part of me wants to keep my original 3.36 in one piece in case I ever want to hot-swap it back into the car for extended highway use. For anyone else looking to do this swap, I found a great video on YouTube, below, as well as a great write up on several sites (http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/49194-differential-cv-lsd-hp-torque-r160-r180-r200-r230-diff-mount/)
  18. I've got one of these laying around...it was a guard for the driver-side only speaker.

GREAT INVENTION! I wonder if this is something that you could market through the multiple datsun facebook groups, probably would get lots of sales.
  21. I thought I remember it's just a pressure fit into the end. I was unable to source a replacement when I went looking and ended up just getting another 5 speed to ensure it didn't leak Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  22. I just got a cheap one from ebay & it works great for tuning (plus all of my friends have no clue what it is & think it makes the car go faster). I did end up re-tapping the balance tube to allow for this to mount on. http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-0-HG-PRM-Vacuum-Gauge-2-5-Inch-Stainless-Steel-Case-Brass-1-4-NPT-Back-NIB-/251636710308?hash=item3a96b77ba4
  23. No problem, just remember, you'll have 10% or more ebay fees plus 3% paypal fees on top of your sales + shipping price. My offer still stands if you change your mind. Your other option is to fully rebuild them & sell them for around $650-$800 depending on how nice they look. Here's what I turn cores into... http://jarvas240z.blogspot.com/2015/10/240z-round-top-carburetor-kit-for-sale.html
  24. I'll give ya $125 shipped to 60544 Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
