by the way; i would enjoy restoring a Z but time is just unavailable for me right now and i was hoping it would hod together with minimal work until i had more time to do it (summer, after colege) but it looks as if that is not the case:( poop!

thanks for the warnings guys, cause i had no real idea what kind of effort i would need to put into this car. it sounds like i ned to wait till i got te time and expereance before i get one of these cars or til i save up enough to afford a decently restored one.

oh howdy beandip, yup i am 16 and its not my first car but it should have been! anyway im not into the whole "rice rocket" thing anyway. do you think that i would be looking into a car older than me (and not a honda) if i was? i do know some about cars, but not how to fix them. im not looking to totally pump up my car with all the bells and whistles that some people do cause right now i dont need to travel at light speed. anyways if yo guys dont think that a Z is a good car for a new driver, i will respect that cause you have been in the buisness, so to speak, longer than I. im looking for a car that sems to have had work done on it in what seems to me to be brakable areas like suspention and paint and suff like that. that way i wont have to worry about it. but if something goes wrong all the time that is bad.

i know that the cars are gonna be brealking down i just wanted to know if this was gonna be happining one a week, onec a month, every time i drive it, or what. i still really want the car but i do have to keep it real and not think its a brand spankin new honda, though. by the way you responded it sounded like you are working on your car alot. im going to take an auto class over the summer so i will be better prepared to fix more minor things. $.03:cheeky:

hey guys another question* how relable are 240's i dont want to be working on my car alot unless i decide that it needs an upgrade. i just wanna be able to drive the darn thing, so if these are total tinker cars that im going to be messing with all the time i dont think i can handle it:( thanks though
  6. hey ive been looking to buy a 240 for some time now and i finally aske my parents about it and they say its ok (im 16). i think yours is a little out of the price range for me but its totally sweet though. one day i hope to have one that kicks arse but for now especially one that runs well is fine with me. good luck with the car and let me know if you decide to drop the price into the $2,000-3,000 range:cheeky: anyway good luck!

thanks for those adresses. before i comit myself i would like to know a bit more about these cars though. i would like to know what all the little facts about a 240Z are like fuel economy and HP and torke and anything else that seems important. I doubt that there is a huge amount of aftermarket upgrades for Z cars but i would like to know how easy it is to get a restored or conversion or new part for the car incase the shocks or breaks or whatever break. Thanks for the help

ok thank you sir, i do live on the west coast, as a matter of fact, right here in Santa Cruz in sunny 'ole california. i think i will dig around this site for some more info on z's. this is a really well made site and congradulationd to whomever made it.

i am really interested in buying a 70's z. i live in santa cruz so it shouldnt be too hard to get the car if i decide to get one. my price range is whatever i can get for my saturn (im guessing not any more than 6000 top end) so scout around the pile and see what you can. basically i want one with no repares needed but it does not need to be in prime condition either. i will be perfectly happy as long as it runs well. im not sure if i want to buy one yet but if you can post the pics and ill keep asking questions regarding these cars to see if its worth the time. thanks -Scott

i was wondering how much on average i should be spending on a 240Z if i were to buy one used (, duh) from someone. im hoping to get one in relitively good condition because i want to mod it but also use it as a daily driver. if anyone had some guidelins on what to look for in a (american) 240z that would be greatly appriciated. Thank you. -Scott
