  1. OK, so for anyone that needs to know. the 280 brackets can be made to fit the 240/260 with a littel works and tools. there are huge rivets holding the 45 degree tabs that are the exact same position as the vertical posts for the 240/260 excluding the outer front hole that must be drilled about a 1/4 inch toward center of car. btw, its a bitch screwing it together though. i had to use a ferrite magnet to hold a nut on the inside of the front of rails after securing the rears. cheers
  2. Talked to Les. Looks like I have 280z seats and the rails are not compatible If anyone has 240z seats sliders, please let me know(Les does not have any) Thanks, K
  3. hi again. i have an early 260z that PO has hacked to bits seemingly currently the car has what looks like honda accord seats(see pic of mounting) problem being i'm 6'3" and my head touches the ceiling. i just picked up a pair of supposed "240/260/280 seats" and i beleive they are either different style mountings or i'm missing pieces. they seats i picked up have mounting points on all 4 sides that look to be factory, but are at 45 degree angles. the car has nothing to mount these to. are these the wrong seats? are there bits missing from my car(again)? if these are the wrong rails, does anyone have the correct ones they could part with? thanks in advance -K.
  4. Starting to confirm my Z has been hacked up by PO. There's all sorts of random stuff not on diagrams(clearly the work of methamphetamines... ), in addition to clear instances of PO wiring AROUND the harness/adding bits and pieces/leaving disconnected crimp ends with no mate... I'm in Ventura CA(93003). Anyone know someone knowledgable in the area I can take this too? I feel this is getting out of my league and is a safety concern. I'd rather it not catch fire in my driveway :/
  5. The yellow/green the harness lead attached to bulb and conituing from body harness into quarter panel. Black/yellow is at pedal switch. The 8 volts I'm metering is pre-pedal switch to chassis on my fluke, which I know how to use...
  6. Sorry... Car is a 1974 260z, manufactured 12/73
  7. Sooo... I should start by saying I've read on here as much as I could... No brake lights. The pedal switch tests good. There is 8 volts on one of the black why yellow wires going to pedal switch. (Any ideas as for why 8?) My main question I suppose is at what location/connector does this wire turn from black/yellow to green yellow? I feel seriously stupid right now... Any help appreciated.
  8. Also all fuses are good, but I'm missing the cover, so no labels...
  9. This is my first Z. 74 260 Someone removed the electric FP. Wires are hanging there bare With ignition on or car running there is no voltage. question; Should electric FP turn on with ignition(like radio)? Or does it run intermittent due to load condition? Thanks in advance -Dr.
  10. Thanks in advance. I searched but no luck... Dr.
  11. Ok thanks. Just figured I'd ask before shelling out for gauges. My dash looks like the grand canyon anyway. The last owner took the liberty of filling the dash crack with white bathroom caulk and makes me want to throw up a little every time I see it. I feel the next project coming...
  12. thanks...
