When The Engine is Cold
Sorry for the late reply, I've been gone on vacation. I figured out the problem. The pickup coil wires from age fell into. So I order a new pickup coil and it works great now. Thanks for the help.

When The Engine is Cold
I would like to start off saying thanks for all the help from the previous posts. It has been really helpful, and I love you guys for it. My 78 is sluggish when accelerating when the motor is warm. I guess it isn't getting the right amount of fuel/air? I noticed today when the engine is cold, and the automatic idler kicks in. The car has much better response and power. I'm guessing this is because of the increase in fuel. It's mostly sluggish between low RPM's to medium RPM's when the engine is hot. It seems to help when I petal the gas before accelerating. Is my problem the fuel being too lean? Is my TPS not configured right or broken? Thanks Note: The car idles around 1200-1500 RPM's. It has a slight miss at those RPM's, but when you speed the motor up it doesn't.

Blue blue blue blue!
I really enjoy the picture on the right. 305 looks like the closest match to it.

I decided to move my paint discussion to this part of the forums. I'm going to paint my Z next week. What are the colors of these Zs? They look like either 305 or 307 blue to me.

Losing Ground?
Everything in the car works except the tachometer and the dash light above the heating controls. These only work sometimes. The tach only works about 10 percent of the time when I first get in my car. It works perfect when it is working. Otherwise the other 90 percent of the time, it doesn't even move. The small ground wire off the negative battery post is cut and not connected to anything.

Losing Ground?
I'll try that tomorrow. If the ignition module was going bad, would it make the idle rough as well?

Color Match!
Is it 307 Blue Metallic? It seems a bit brighter.

Losing Ground?
I meant RPM Hand.

Color Match!
Do you think it would be possible to identify this color? http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/3540/861/33847930001_large.jpg

Losing Ground?
Yeah I'll check into that.

Losing Ground?
That's what I thought, so I went ahead and bought another ECU from ebay. It seem to improve, but done the same thing.

Losing Ground?
My ECU seems to lose ground or connection when I drive for long periods of time. It pretty much stops working, and overloads the injectors. The only way to fix this problem is to push really hard on the connector on the ECU. I've taken it out and clean it a few times. Another problem I have that might be related too it is the tick hand, and the light above the heat controls. These work about 10 percent of the time. If I park on a slope, they work 99 percent of the time when I get in my car. Within 5 or 10 minutes later, they both stop working. When the tick hand is working, the car seems to run better. I'm losing ground on my wiring harness? Are these related?

1978 fuel tank?
I've been looking into that. I wonder how much it would cost to repair the inside gas line? That was my first option, it's just so hard finding someone in this area that will do it.

1978 fuel tank?
I'm 99 percent sure it won't work.

1978 fuel tank?
Yeah, It's awful because I live in an area where you don't see many Datsuns.
