What year 240 Z
It could go either way as this is about the time of year when the year model was being changed. There is a lot of discussion on this topic so I'd recommend a quick search and start reading if you are interested in this aspect of the Z history.

'71 rear hatch strut
Look through the feedback that you two exchanged this would be the only way you will find who you bought it from unless you have your old emails from the transaction. eBay only keeps closed auctions in their system for 90 days.

Carb Sticking
Beandip, they are 4 screw. Do you have more information on this, I really know very little about the carbs. Also, it was sticking prior to my hitting it with carb cleaner. Before removing the dome is there anything I should know or have on hand (i.e. drain anything, new gaskets, etc)?

Carb Sticking
I have a little knowledge about the SU carbs and have a question. My front carb seems to work properly the issue is my rear one. When I lift the piston up it does not feel the same as the front nor does it seem to drop quite the same, further when it is lifted all the way up it sticks and does not drop at all...I have to open the filler on the top of the dome and tap it before it drops. I have already sprayed carb cleaner in through the air horn and that seemed to only help just ever so slightly. Any thoughts, ideas, HELP!? Please....

Rear end gear ratio, and differential identification
As stated above with the age of these cars there is no telling what has been replaced/swapped out so the best bet is a personal inspection. I completely agree with the removal of the rear diff cover and reading the numbers on the gears, this is by far the best and most accurate method...though there are others as mentioned above. Also, as for the difference between the R180 and R200 take a look at this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4270&highlight=r180+r200+difference Then just for fun you may also want to read up on this thread as there is a ton of good information in it including a list of what diff came STOCK in which car: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1568&pp=15 Lastly, I just want to suggest that you use the search feature of this site as there is SOOOOO much great information here already and the majority of questions have already been asked and answered...repeatedly in many cases. I'm not coming down hard on you or anything just helping you learn about the site and Z cars...there's a wealth of information and help on this forum, in my opinion this is the best Z car site on the web!

Not a Datsun..But it's Japanese!
That car looks a little 'weathered' so good luck to the new owner in finding parts in the states for that one. :disappoin Lots of work and expense it seems; even more so than our Z's.

Speed Racer Movie
I had heard about the movie a while back and nothing since...interested in seeing it when/if it comes out though! I have the complete 52-episode Speed Racer collection on a collectors edition DVD set that was available a few years back. As for the question about the car, the base would be a Corvette. It's already been done! I wish I had all of my bookmarks with me (I'm in a hotel not at home where my bookmarks are). You guys just need to do a little Google searching. Here are a couple links I found: http://www.sussexcountyonline.com/news/columns/cars/carreviews/speedracer.html http://www.petersen.org/default.cfm?DocId=1813&CarID=258 http://favoritetoons.com/speed-racer.php http://www.speedracer.com

OT-Carl Stahlnecker Died June 16th
Wow! :surprised Thank you for the post Chris, I had no idea. I have missed his posts on this site for a long time now, he was such a wealth of information and always willing to help and answer even the simplest of questions (no matter how stupid they may have been...I know because when I was new here I asked my fair share!). We will all miss you and everything you contributed to us all.

Sport Z Mag. Closing Down
SportZ, I just went to the old site and all links indicate that it's closing up. What I was looking for is if there are any back issues available for purchase? Please let me know ASAP as I'm certain that things will be moving very quickly at this point as far as people moving and office space being vacated etc.

Yellow sway bar
There is always the possibility that the previous owner had it painted/powdercoated yellow. Just something to keep in mind.

Transmission popping out of gear...
Time for a visit to the tranny shop. I had a car popping out of gear once and it turned out that there was a 'bur' on the cog for the gear it was popping out of. You should also check out this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20158

starter motor compatability
Will, do you have a Nissan part number on the gear reduction starter and the specific years (and engine configuration if applicable) that these were in originally? I'd like one and don't want to get screwed by a new parts guy that just pulls any old Z starter and not the gear reduction model. Also, are there any physical differences that are obvious which I could look for (pix would be great!)?

Ebay scammer
Then my other suggestion would be to see about contacting the Visa/Mastercard issuer and see what they are willing to do...if anything. And that's of course providing that PayPal will disclose that information to you, which they probably will not. Don't give up!
-
Ebay scammer
Appeal PayPal's decision and show the new information where he has done this to many others and see if they will change their minds.

Those little z ski racks
I just saw a set on eBay last night, find them and watch the auction to see what they sell for. That should give you some kind of idea.

Hex bolts used under the hood
If you have a spare and want to mail me one I'll go check the local nut & bolt supply house for a stainless steel one for you. Heck, if they carry them maybe I'll become a reseller of them for the club since they seem to be so hard to come by.
