  1. This has been discussed before on this site. Here is one such thread on the topic: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13830&highlight=su I'm so embarrassed that this car...errrr...ummmmm...truck...uhhhhhh....THING is even in the same state as me!!! :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

To address your suspension question there are a few options, I have gone the Tokico route, others have gone other routes including coilovers from places like Arizona Z car. Go check out the Suspension forum on this site and you will find a ton of information on this subject.
  3. Carl, I must say that was quite a write up! I must also admit that I didn't read it all and yet I still have a question. This information indicates that the triple SU setup is a poor idea and does not add to the performance of the car. My question is then why are there so many racers using a triple carb setup with Webbers, Solex, Mikuni, etc? If the triple setup is no better why do the racers not know this? My guess has to do with the differences in the type of carbs we are talking about...though I'm no expert and thus my curiosity.
  4. TomoHawk, you are not listening. Lowe's and Home Depot are not the kinds of stores you should be shopping at, nor are Ace Hardware, Manard's, or ANY other hardware store!!! You need to either check out the dealership, a specialty Z place as you already have, or go to a nut & bolt house. Even then you may find it difficult to source the exact part you want. The nut & bolt house is your BEST bet though I think. Believe me, I have already gone down this road a few times, and not just with the Z with things like weedeaters that use a left-hand thread in an odd metric size, etc. Look in the phone book, talk to some people, just find the nut & bolt house(s) in your area and pay them a visit with an example of what you need in hand and they will help you locate it. Should there not be such a place in your area, and in a large city like you are I'd be shocked, then your next best choice is to find such places on the internet.

Mine looks the same and fits alright, though I have the good ol' steel wheel as a spare. The board does not fit quite flush due to the tire width though, it's a bit wider than stock. Note: on mine the issue is the tire, not the rim.
  6. If I recall correctly the oil pan from '70-83 were all the same except for on the turbo engines so yes they are interchangeable. I would just pick up a used one to replace the one you have, a whole lot cheaper and should be very easy to source (check eBay I saw one there this week, or I'm sure that someone on the forum has a few spares available).
  7. I got Spicers from MSA about two years ago and they hare been great. The research I did at the time indicated that they were the best part available for my 240Z and since I will be autoxing the car that's what I went with.
  8. My Z, my 4Runner, and my Silverado 1500 all get about the same gas mileage so it makes no difference what the price of gas does I still have to drive something. Great idea!!!!!!!!! You crack me up, just the thought of making my comute on a Vespa... LOL ROFL
  9. Thank you for the part numbers. I ordered a set from MSA a couple years ago for one of my half shafts.

I saw your post on another site and replied there, I'll post it here too though. I got mine about two years ago at Autozone, they had at least two different shank lengths to choose from. Give them a shot.

Yep, '73 did have an electric fuel pump. Mistake. VaGuS510, do a search on the RX7 fuel pump and I think that you will find the info you are seeking.

Anyone looking for one whould QUICKLY see the classifieds at hybridz.org as there is one for sale there for $150. I'd have grabbed it except that the owner made a couple slight modifications which I do not want on mine...this is a new never used item according to the ad. Hurry!! And good luck.
  13. I placed my bid...$25 and I'm currently the high bidder, although the reserve has not been met yet. Damn it! And I really want this one too....

Thanx for the tip, I have set my TiVo also. Although this looks like the same one I recorded a year or two ago...still going to record just in case.

More info please! I have not heard of History International...probably means I don't get it.

Works just fine for me too.

I also agree, get the original engine and keep it with the car; even if you do not re-install it just hang on to it.

http://www.zzxdatsun.com/ I just didn't want to be the only one who was left out on this thread.
  19. texasz replied to snarty's post in a topic in Introductions
Maybe. This is about the time when some were sold as '70 and some as '71 as I recall.
  20. I've had 4 not-so-petite people in an S30 and driven around town bar hopping...with a full bladder and a knee in my gut! The was with all doors, hatch, and windows closed so there were no parts hanging out of the car...and nearly no room to move.
  21. texasz replied to Arne's post in a topic in Open Discussions
Arne, I may be interested in some of these parts when you get the car...such as the valve cover, air box, etc. I can provide a list if you like and you can then send pix and prices back. Please PM or email me.

We can certainly be hard on people from time to time and there are a few people who do not appear to get along and others who may be considered irritating by some. I would have to agree that this site is still better than any other Z site on the web though. Don't believe that then visit zcar.com and you will see how childish people can really be.

You'd think that they could do better... http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/1/7/79933417.htm
  24. Any real reason for it being so squared off compaired to the stock/original valve covers?
  25. texasz replied to ZRedline's post in a topic in Introductions
I'd say keep the 280...that is unless you are selling it to get a 240! In any case, welcome to the site!! As I'm sure you already know from reading for a while we are a great group and very knowledgable, helpful, and friendly to boot.
