Yes, that guy is selling those every month or so on eBay. I don't know if he can't sell the ones he has or if he's making them to sell.

Someone here was asking where to get one of these a while back, I'm thinking it may have been billramsey but I really can't recall. In any case here's one on ebay that I just saw: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7971387788&category=6763

Zspecialties Alternator?????
I swear Arizona Z Car has one of these but just looked and couldn't find it on their site. You may want to talk with them about this swap also since they seem to know what they are doing.

I don't suppose that you or anyone else working on this mod happen to know the specs (length, thread, and diameter) of these bolts?

Early Car
And she's gone! I was looking at it last night and thought about it but decided not to. I'm still glad I didn't buy it...I'm just not ready for another one...nor a divorce.

1991 240z
sHaDe, What everyone is implying here but has not come right out and said it is that this is a site dedicated to the Z car. To address your questions and really obtain the best information and most help I (and I'm sure most if not all on this site would agree) recommend that you locate a forum dedicated to the 240SX...I'm certain that there are several as this was also a fine Nissan car and well liked by many. We here don't know much about them nor are most all that interested so I doubt that this site would be of the most benefit to you as opposed to a 240SX site. Best of luck and if you do buy a Z some day please come back as this is the best Z car forum on the web!

How to Modify Your Nissan&Datsun
You're right Bambi...again you are able to correct my inaccurate info I pulled from memory while at work and not at home with my 'Z car library' in front of me for reference. Thank you!! I hope this didn't confuse anybody.

Hey Bill, Here's Something For You!
Yank the engine, tranny, ECU, wiring, etc and scrap the rest. Then you won't have it sitting around your place.

How to Modify Your Nissan&Datsun
One thing to realize it that there is the original printing and then an '84 reprint out there. I have heard that the original is better than the reprint. I personally have the reprint (just got it but haven't read it yet)...and the originals go for a large some of cash on eBay...like $80+ :surprised If anyone here is willing to part with an original printing for a FAIR price, not an eBay price, please let me know.

Hey Bill, Here's Something For You!
I know that you are in AR and thought you may be interested in this: http://www.zcar.com/classifieds/index.php?method=showdetails&list=advertisement&rollid=23072&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=29& For $300 you could have yourself a 280ZX turbo and a 5-speed to pop into one of your 240Z cars if you like. Would be a shame to see these fine parts to to waste in the junk yard.

Rebuilding and Replacing Engine
Good idea Ian! I had not thought about that. Thanx for giving me more work to do. For BOTH of you, what are you re-wrapping the harness with? Just standard black electrical tape?

A new magazine maybe? In any case about when might we expect the announcement to be public?

72 240z just purchased
First welcome to the site! Second, tell us more about your car and post some pix in the gallery. Third, browse this site, search for your questions, you will find an amazing amount of information here! If you are unable to locate the answer to your question(s) the post them and we will help. There are lists of places to buy parts in many threads on this site already, just do a quick search.

Rebuilding and Replacing Engine
Will, what specifically is the difference? I may be blind but I don't see anything in that pic that clues me in.

free sportz magazines
If Bill doesn't take them then I would like them.

Driver tail light lense availability?
I second that! Frist step: ask the seller about the situation Second step: if the reply (if you get one) is not reasonable, report him

72 240 z choke control knob wanted
Thank you for having an example of what I described above!!!

Rebuilding and Replacing Engine
Yes, I planned on using the turbo head bolts at a minimum...maybe ARP if I can afford them. Thank you for that Will, a pic of the starter would be GREAT! I would love to be able to see the difference...I may even have one that came with the '83 engine I got even though it was not turbo but this way I'll be able to tell the difference.

Rebuilding and Replacing Engine
I see that I didn't get much feedback on this thread and would like to bring it up again (as plans tent to mine changed and I'm now trying to get going on this now). 1) I need a turbo Z car oil pump but don't know if I should buy OEM or aftermarket and if aftermarket what brand? 2) I need a water pump and have been told that OEM is the only way to go. True? 3) I need an alternator. Should I go OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket what brand? What about the high output one that Arizona Z Car sells? 4) It looks like I should go with the later Z car electric ignition (e12-88 I believe is the proper one). Please correct me if I'm wrong. 5) I need a clutch and suppose I'll go with a Centerforce unless anyone has a good reason not to and a better one to use. I will be autoxing the car when done. 6) I just got my Hyperflex bushing kit and I believe it has all the steering rack bushings and even the steering coupler disc (if this part is not there I have a urethane one I bought a few months back any how). Are there any other bushings that this kit does not have that I will need while the engine is out? Here's a link to the kit I got: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16969 7) I need new tranny mounts so I need to know if OEM or aftermarket is the way to go? If aftermarket what brand? 8) I will also be installing a new starter and as I understand it I should go with a gear reduction starter. Now what I don't know is how to tell a gear reduction starter, what year(s) did it come in, and should I buy OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket what brand? 9) Lastly I need a new clutch slave cylinder so should I go OEM or aftermarket and if aftermarket what brand? I'd rally appreciate your feedback and input on these items please...I know that there's a wealth of knowledge on this site...I just need to tap a little bit of it. Thank you in advance!!
