I second all of what Will has said...except that it should be sent to my home. Seriously though, how much are you looking to get for it? I may be interested in buying it. Where are you located?
  2. Sorry Will...must just be a bit faster on the bid...or lucky. Either way I'm glad I caught the deal as it really is a good price. The others are right about this seller, he sells a lot on eBay and will probably have another auciton for this item again soon...keep an eye out.
  3. And now they are out! I bought the last set. Thanx for the tip!!
  4. Not really that I need a roller but there were some things form the one in CO that I can make use of. Thanx for the offer and I'm glad that the grill worked out well for you.
  5. How funny is that! Would be even funnier if I could get it and bring her 'home' to Texas.
  6. Too bad you don't live closer or I'd take it! You wouldn't be planning a trip to Texas and be willing to drag this car along behind you would ya?

I live in Cedar Park also, near the High School. Hope you find a Z soon and can start enjoying it with the rest of us!!

I tried that and it didn't work. There must be a bunch of sealant in there holding it in. That's basically the tool I was looking for in the store but couldn't locate. Thanks on the lead on the type of wire to use, I wouldn't have known where to start looking for that. I wish you lived closer! I could have you stip down my parts car and I could learn some tips in the process. Hi AWC, welcome to the club. I don't think I've seen you here before and noticed you're in Austin! I am too. What part of town you in and what's your Z look like? Maybe I've seen you around...

Anyone got the best and easiest way to remove a 240Z windshield without damaging it? I checked at O'Rielys for a windshield removal tool and they didn't have anything.

Not true. This is a transferable lifetime service...that is transferable to another owner or another unit (as in if you upgrade to a newer one). I have done both in the past already. As for the newest largest one available...a hacked unit will ALWAYS be larger that anything they sell in the stores for some odd reason. All it is a a computer hard drive from the store (this is how you upgrade a TiVo) and the units run a customized version of Linux to make it all work. Upgrading is really not all that difficult (mine was a bit more complicated as I took mine from a unit with two smaller drives to on big drive...this can become complicated). If you are not savy on these things there are a couple companies out there that will do it for you even. For those who don't know you should check out www.9thtee.com for all your TiVo goodies! I failed to mention this...I too have video distribution where the TiVo and the DVD player in the living room may be watched on any other TV in the house...this includes my arcade game in the second living room. That bad boy runs MAME and plays over 3400 vintage/classic and some newer arcade games, has a TVTuner card so we can watch TV/TiVo/DVD on it and is networked so it has internet access and can also play anything from our music collection via a video jukebox program which accesses our MP3 server in my home office. The arcade was my pre-Z car project. I was prompted to finally finish it when I bought the Z and needed the garage for it instead. If you are interested in the arcade project here's a link to the pix and some info: http://www.pape.ws/gallery/arcade1 If you'd like to discuss it with me please feel free to start another thread on it or shoot me an email.

Sorry, I love mine so much that I get excited when telling people about how great the are!

I too have TiVo...two of them actually, a 311 hour series 1 unit and a 60 hour series 2 unit in the bedroom for times when what I want and the wife wants conflict (Thursday nights is the perfect example). Both are on my network, the series 1 via a TiVoNet card and hardwired and the series 2 via a wireless USB NIC so neither unit use my phone line both use my broadband connection to download updates. Plus the series 2 has additional features like accessing your MP3 collection or photos from your network so you can listen/view them from the TV (very cool for parties when you wish to show off a slideshow of your daughter's latest pix!). You also do not have to pay monthly as this adds up fast, I have the lifetime service on both units with is the same as the monthly service just a one time fee is the only difference. Cost savings is a breakeven point at about 24 month then after that point you are saving yourself money (I've had my series 1 for three years now and love it). Also on the rating shows and allowing TiVo to automatically record things for you based upon what it thinks you will like...you can turn this feature on or off as you please. Mine is off because I don't want TiVo recording a bunch of stuff and filling up my drive with shows I didn't specifically ask for. Something that has not been mentioned is the season pass feature! This is one of my favorite things as you pick a show you like, say CSI, and get a season pass, make a few settings as desired (i.e. record only first runs, keep all episodes, keep until space needed, etc) and you will never miss another episode of CSI. No more forgetting to set the VCR if you will not be home, no more missing it because you expected to be home but something happened causing you to be late, no more going on vacation and needing more than 6 hours of recording time that a VHS tape allows...man the list goes on and on. It truely is like the commercials say, "It'll change the way you watch TV", and "TV on YOUR schedule". My wife didn't see the point when I came home and told her I was buying one but now she can't stop telling everyone how great it is and how easy to use (she never could program the VCR).

I'll shoot a pic and measure it over the weekend to compare. No mounting hardware at all, just the cover. I'm sure it will be a chore to locate the right pieces to install it now. :disappoin

Yes, I saw it just the other day and hope to see it on my TiVo!! Did you notice that both cars in the garage appeared to be Z cars? I just caught a glimpse but the second looked like a convertable kit Z car.
  15. Don't know what the deal is but this link seems to be dead, I tried earlier today from work and again just now from home and still no workie.

Ok, so this arrived the other day and I'm not sure it's for a 2-seater...I'm thinking it may be for a 2+2 where the hatch area is a bit smaller. Does anyone have good pix of one of these installed? Should the cover come all the way back to the rear of the car or not? Anyone have one that is/was/has ever been installed or one that they are 100% certain is for a 2-seater 240Z mind taking a couple rough measurements for me to compare to mine? Also, there are NO shock cords on this nor hooks to attach it to the hatch. Anyone have good information on these parts? I have reviewed the replies to this thread and also the page on zhome that was linked to (even though that was for a '77 model).

beandip, 21 days since it began is considered an "OLD THREAD"?

None of this appears to matter much any how since he posted the one time and it does not look as though he has ever returned...not even to read the replies. I sent him a PM immediately and still no reply to that either. Too bad...I was ready to buy it from him if he was willing to sell. :/

A couple of you mention to use the stock drums...but what were those, aluminum or steel/cast iron?
  20. You could even find a donor car with a good roof and replace your's if you really wanted to.

I don't need the whole car but I do need that carb setup! :devious:
  22. Hey, I just though about this! Check out my Z car page, there is a collection of info and if you scroll down to the Rotisserie link you will see various Rotisserie plans...it wouldn't take much to modify one of them to an engine stand...in fact I think one of them is made from two engine stands! Here's the link: http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff
  23. Hey, I see that you are on this site too. As I posted to your thread on zdriver.com everything you show in your pix is repairable. You just need a good body man to do it properly...no mounds of bondo!
  24. texasz replied to reggiegsd's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
VERY nicely polished up too...a lot of work went into those.
  25. I can also tell you the best non-eBay location to get a tranny from...ME!! I live in Cedar Park and have a 4-speed in my garage I pulled from a running parts car a couple months ago. Let me know if you want it (shoot me a PM or email). Don't forget to post pix of your new car!! Heck, maybe I'll get to see it in person.
