I'm lost! Is this an auction on TV?

'73 240z
Some of it is. What piece(s) do you need? Please see the pix, they show a little of the car.

'73 240z
Ok, no takers on the whole car so I'm going to part it out. Name your part and your price and I'll let you know if it's available, what condition it's in, pix if possible, etc.

A 240Z for my Collection
Nice clean engine bay, previous owner must have never driven it and steam cleaned it daily!! :stupid: Is the NGK plug box holding your radio dial in place?

Ready to begin build up of '81 L28
Read up on Z Garage and you will know all about the mods you want to make with the exception of the N42, he doesn't talk about that head. From the research I have done the F54 block with flat-top pistons and the N42 head are better than the same block with a P90 only because it's cheaper. What I mean by that is you have to shave the P90 and then shim the cam towers to achieve the same compression ration as just bolting on a stock N42 head to the same block; the compression ration for this block with an N42 head is supposed to be 10:1. I'm building mine in the garage now with an N42 head. :classic:

Nut/Bolt Torque Questions & Torque Wrench Oppinions
:surprised NO JOKE!!! The Snap-On are expensive!

Nut/Bolt Torque Questions & Torque Wrench Oppinions
I don't off hand see a Crafsman torque wrench in a 3/8 drive that goes from 10 to 150 ft/lbs. However, there is this little gem that goes from 0 to 150 but honestly it seems a bit techie to me. Where can I find other high quality torque wrenches?

Nut/Bolt Torque Questions & Torque Wrench Oppinions
I'm looking at getting a torque wrench and need some information and oppinions to help me make my decision. First off, what is the torque range that Z cars have (i.e. 10-75 ft/lbs, etc.)? Does this make sense? I want to know what the lowest and highest torques are on a Z car? Also, what range do the majority of these lie in? Maybe that's helps explain what I'm looking for. Second, I'd like your oppinions on torque wrench styles. I have seen the ones that look like a socket wrench and the ones that look like some kind of "scale" which the guy called a spring torque wrench. Which is better? Which do you prefer and why?

Do you know this car?
zmefly, was that your car? Or do you just know about it?

Do you know this car?
SILVER!? I was not asking about the 300Z, I wanted to know about the BLUE 240Z...that's the one I really like. I just wish that someone knew something about it! :disappoin

Ratchet Axle Tie Down Straps
Where have you seen the best deal on ratchet axle tie down straps? I'm looking around for some and am not really sure where to shop.

Do you know this car?
I have been trying to get information about this car from zdriver.com and it seems as though there is nobody who "owns" that site; at least no on who admits to it and replies to emails. I love the color of the 240Z in this pic and want to know about the paint code. Does anyone here know anything about it? I'd like to see more pix of it and get the paint code if possible.

Here's the tool you need to answer your question. It has changed since last time I used it so you will just have to play with it a little bit. http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi

1973 240Z fully loaded!*
PrOxLaMuS©, The car is in San Antonio and is NOT in drivable contidion at this time so it will have to be trailered home. I was down at sparky's house last weekend and he's done a great job on the work up to this point but it is still a project car and needs more work. Will be one hell of a nice one when done though.

OK, I'm mad now......
I hope that you're not including SUVs in that statement. I have a 2000 4Runner Highlander 4x4(which is now called the Sport Edition since they took an SUV called the Highlanger to the market the following year, 2000 was the first year for the 'Sport Edition'). Any how, it pulls anything I have ever needed to from 21' I/O boats (on WET boat ramps) to 18' trailers with my 240Z parts car on it (complete car with drive train et all). My tires do not spin on the boat ramps, unlike people in full sized trucks/SUVs with larger engines, I don't have trouble pulling boats out like trucks do (no weight in the back end over the drive axle), and I do not fee like I'm lacking for passing power pulling a load either. All on the stock 3.4L engine. On the same topic, a V10? How big of an engine do you really need? We still have speed limits in the states...even though movies like "The Fast and The Furious" make it seem like we don't.

Couple of POR-15 questions

240Z Emissions Items - WANTED!
I'll get you the manifold pic tonight when I get home...it's not NEARLY as large. :classic:

Couple of POR-15 questions
MikeW has hit the nail on the head. Marine Clean nor Metal Ready will prevent rust, you must either paint the part, powder coat it, or apply POR15 to it to protect it.

240Z Emissions Items - WANTED!
The '73 I have likely has everything as it was a running car when parked a couple years ago. Here's a link to a big pic of the engine (and I do mean it's a big pic). http://www.pape.ws/gallery/Engine/aaa?full=1 See what you need? I know for a fact I have the exhaust manifold you are looking for. Let me know.

a bunch of stuff I just put on ebay
I was interested in a few of your parts also but feel the same as frank, looks like they are gonna sell. I did send email to you from eBay but I think I got a reply...maybe not I have sent so many lately.

differences between L28 and L28et
Give ZGarage a read, it should answer many of your questions. I do not want to try and retype it nor do I personally have the experience to due it justice. The only thing I would add is that to get the results from the P90 head he states requires some work (shaving, etc) whereas if you bolt up an N42 head you get the same results with no additional work or expense (N42 on an F54 block with flat-top pistons yields a 10:1 compression ratio) and SU carbs; this is the route I'm working on right now. Here's the link: http://geocities.com/zgarage2001/z.html After this I'm sure you will come back here with many questions but you will know more too.

I am now Z less
Echoing everyone else here...THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that you get it back with no more damage than what was caused to take it in the first place. Hoping equally as much that the $%^#%^*@# that took it get caught and have a long record so that they don't just get off with a slap on the wrist!!!!! :tapemouth :tapemouth :tapemouth Man this just pisses me off! I had a truck stolen once and know how it feels, to make that situation worse I just couldn't understand why they took mine out of all the vehicles in the lot there was nothing special about it...except to me. Bastards, all of them!!

Z newbie
If you are asking about my '77 5-speed no it it not. It is at the shop right now ready for me to pick up and will be going in my 240Z with I put the new engine in (after it has been rebuilt). Sorry.
