Cam Lobe Wear
I'll borrow some feeler gauges and report back. The springs I'll double check as well. A photo would probably help a ton, I'll see what I can do there too.

Cam Lobe Wear
If the cam lobe is wearing on the low side what does this mean? When it's not supposed to engage the rocker downward. Does the valve need adjusted? I've got some gold discoloration going on and it looks like it's wearing prematurely compared to the other lobes which look fine. I'd expect the raised lobe to wear first not the off side of the cam.

Plug wires
So thanks to Jerz for the education. The wires I have are dated 1970. I think someone out there looking for a concourse restoration would want these. I'm just trying for a driving car nothing fancy like that.

Plug wires
Are the yaznaki wires the original equipment? I Have a set lying around and was trying to see if pitching them was a bad idea?

280zx brake master cylinder info
Is the 15/16ths brake master cylinder supposed to be the primary ( front brakes) closer to the firewall with the larger reservoir and the smaller reservoir away from the firewall feeding the rears?

Calling it. Parting out a series 1.
I've got A bunch of pictures taken of the progress. I just need to get to some Internet besides my phone to post photos. Getting the dash out was a decent challenge but I went slow and managed. The dash was brittle, I unfortunately left some marks on the top. Disconnecting the heater control cables was a pain.

I have the seat belts. The material is old and safety is up to each person's personal decisions. I'd never trust my life to the 45 year old webbing. But they are probably better than no seat belts. My 64 f100 had no seat belts, no power steering or brakes. I loved it so I won't judge.

Guys I have the whole car pretty much so it's only a matter of condition. I'll just work my way down the list starting with Blue. I look forward to meeting everyone and helping get as much benefit from a rust belt death as possible. I have emblems and the antenna, the rad support I'd wager there are nicer from the western States. I'll take a close look today but most of the sheet metal is toast. I'll PM whomever leaves a want in this post and work in first come order. I look forward to meeting other enthusiasts. Maybe I'll get a ride out of all this. It's been a couple year project and I've still never even ridden in a 240z unless you count vroom noises while sitting in a pile of parts. I am hoping to get the 72 started this summer. Taking apart the 1970 is greatly accelerating my learning curve. If anyone swings through fort wayne look me up.

I don't take this lightly but my car is toast. When the toe hook pulled out of the frame rail I should have walked away. That was 3 years ago and it's been rotting outside since. The frame rails are gone the floors are gone, the fenders were fiberglass decades ago, the door jambs and sills are gone. I started taking the interior apart to find the passenger wheel well seam ready to fail. The only decent things left are a few of the interior parts and dash assembly. The engine is frozen but the car was sitting mostly intact until yesterday. She's going to donate to my 72 project and if anyone needs an rare part let me know. I'll probably post parts to auction to help fund the build. Did the powered antenna continue past the series one? Just a cool part I pulled yesterday.

Carlisle import show
I'll look forward to getting a peak at a race prepped Z. I'm sure I'll find the re-engineering fascinating. I am always curious about how to make a Z faster and handle better. Safe travels gnosez hopefully I get to meet you there.

Carlisle import show
Anyone plan on attending? I'm hoping I can see lots of 240z's there and get firedup to get my project going full steam. Maybe even get my first ride in one. It's been two years of ownership and I haven't even put the engine in. Gotta keepthe dream alive.

Recommendation for gas tank restoration.
My concern is getting all the sealant gunk out which I have a feeling will require blasting. The radiator shop had one gas tank guy and he told me he didn't want to touch it. And if he did it would probably only hold up for about 10 years. It was like when a contractor doesn't want a job and just high balls so they don't have to do it. Not the type of person I want to give money to or let near a part that isn't easily replaced.
