Thanks guys, I had another look and the plastic mounting boss on the console HAD partially snapped off where it attaches to the choke lever assembly. Look like the options are either a new console or "manufacturing" the fixes you've suggested ... thanks again

Tried to start up my 240Z, gave it plenty of choke as usual - and the choke lever seemed to go loose, and something seeemd to break. Took off the centre console - can't find whether the choke lever/cable just sits loose normally under the console or attaches to something on the body. My Haynes manual doesn't have a diagram - anyone out there have a diagram showing what I should see? Thanks ...

My July 1973 240Z (in Australia) also has the holes for the automatic badge, as several others have mentioned. It appears that it was a feature for Aussie 240zs from around 1973, but not in the USA ...

Thanks Royce and 260Z. I'll check these things out but not this weekend ... here in Canberra (Australia) we're under alert from bushfires again so my priority (after house & family) is to evacuate the Z if needs be ....

I have a 1973 240Z with standard 240Z engine, apart from fairly new English SUs. The problem is that when the fuel tank is filled up, there are a variety of running problems (flat spots, stalling, running rich) which disappear as the fuel tank runs down - on a 1/4 of a tank it runs beautifully. Checked out the SUs and they are OK - fuel seems to have trouble reaching the engine from the carbies when full. The engine has a mechanical fuel pump but not an electric one. Any suggestions, anyone? Thanks!
