  2. Hey whats up guys, what a hot summer it has been. So hot in fact that my radiator of probably 20 years decided to take a big dump on me. I called up motorsports and its 200 bucks for a new one, but they have a 2 week wait till they get some more in stock. I need this thing now cuse the z is my daily driver. There are alot of other z parts dealers out there, anybody have any suggestions on a reputable place with good parts to try so I can get back out on the road asap. (and not VB, never again will I buy from them, their parts are crap) Let me know. Frankie

  7. Hello again still in the process of putting on my struts. I have taken out my old struts and put in the new ones however these new tokico's have some play up and down in the cartridge. I was wondering if this was normal. The old struts seem to have a longer base then the new ones. Is this okay? Frankenstein Z PS Putting oil in the cartridge, nothing in any of the books I have about it but most everybody on here says its needed, whats the verdict.

How's it going everybody. I have been trying to get a part for my thermostat housing and no one has it. I tried Msa, victoria, and the nissan dealer, no luck. What I am looking for is part of the thermostat housing. It is a hose connector to the thermostat housing. It is off a 72 240z. The housing directs water in two routes from the housing. One is directly into the engine where it is bolted on at and the other is through a hose that goes into the intake manifold. There is a connector that screws into the housing that the hose going to the intake manifold attaches to. This connector is what I am looking for. I can't believe something this simple is keeping my car in the garage but it is. Anyone have a clue where I can find this part? Frankenstein Z
  17. Hate to say but I haven't started yet. My little z has been keeping me busy with other things. It busted a bolt on the thermostat so thats my current project. I look at it this week. Thanks for the input by the way I appreciate it. Frankenstein Z

I was out with my girlfriend the other day driving the z and we went to eat at this new restaurant. I had to park way out in the middle of BFE to get a spot in this parking lot that resembled the one at the mall of america. Well I go in to eat and such. I come back out and what should be parked next to me but a 280 zx. I was in aww. The guy must have been driving out in this huge parking lot and the next thing he knows he sees my z. I don't know where the guy was going or where he was at but its funny how he found my car in such a huge parking lot. It was like the guy was saying hey nice z check out mine. Well I thought it was neat. Well back to the dungeon to get this thermostat housing on. Frankenstein Z

I get spark in every cylinder, does this rule out the shaft, if not what do I check? Frankenstein Z

Pulled the plugs they all look good and have plenty of spark. I checked those chokes and every was working properly. Can't figure out why these cylinders won't fire.
  23. HHhahahahaha get yourself a book I would have asked the samething 6 months ago. You need to get your shop manual and read read read. After having to work on my car as much as I do I learned quick. By the way the carbs. mix the gas and air to a specific ratio then it sends this mixture through the intake into the multiple cylinders. Here the air and gas mixture along with the spark from you spark plug causes an explosion which you wouldn't have with out oxygen from the air, gas, and spark. Keep wrenchin away................ I had it running today but found out that it is only running on three cylinders the others won't fire. I was thinking it would be timing but shouldn't it be back firing if the timing is off. So then I thought that maybe I put desiel in the car. I don't know if the car could even run with it in but that is the only thing I could come up with. The smoke out that back is white and it smells like burnt gas. It can't be the valve because I have three cylinders working. So what could this be. Frankenstein Z upset and confused.....................

I got the car started by putting gas into the cylinders and it started up. It smoked horrible. It doesn't really sound right but I can't place whats wrong. I was completely off on the noise, when I press down on the accelerator the car makes a loud clicking noise and it only does this while I am driving it if it is sitting idle in the driveway it sounds fine. Ideas anyone? Frankenstein Z
