coolant plug
Yeah it definitely looks more slugish then a liquid. The oil is very dirty, hasn't been changed in a long time. I was going to do it as soon as the dash is back in. I talked to a buddy of mine and he said he would help me do the cyclinder test to check for a cracked block. Hope, Hope it comes out okay, but being an optimist I have to look at this from a good perspective at least if I rebuild the engine will be ready for some larger performance parts. :cheeky: So we will see. coolant plug
Well aren't you full of good news. I was going to try the garden hose myself. I will try that next. Are you sure that the brownish color wouldn't be from rust in the engine or in the radiator? Will give the hose a shot. Thanks for the help. Frankenstein Z

coolant plug
I went ahead and put a new thermostat gasket in and found that the hose coming out of my thermostat housing and into my manifold was plug with the brown sluge I cleaned that out and then also saw that the opening coming from my thermostat iinto my manifold was also plugged with that same sluge. Curious to see if the sluge went all the way through the manifold. I opened up the opposite end of the manifold where the coolant comes out. I took my my air hose and blew through the manifold. Nothing no air came through the manifold. Does this mean that the manifold is plugged with this same sluge? Let me know. Frankenstein Z

Horn Pad
Can you just buy the horn switch or do you have to get the whole stirring wheel?

Complete Replacement Bulb List - 240Z
I just got bulbs last night at hires for the choke light and fuel gauge for a 72 240z. It took them about a half hour but they were both good fits. Just take the old bulbs in and they will find them. There are also a couple of spots in these forums that tell the wattage, and type. Frankenstein Z

Horn Pad
Is the horn pad itself involved with honking the horn or is it just what you press on and the horn mechanism is part of the steering wheel. Frankenstein Z P.S. Frankenstein is coming alive.:classic:

Had no problem finding the cap 13 #. Will give it a try as soon as my dash is back in this week. Frankenstein Z

Coolant forced out of overflow hose
Are radiator caps generic and anyone will work? Napa, hires, etc. 12-14 lbs

Coolant forced out of overflow hose
I looked at the radiator cap and it says 14. So how do I do a cyclinder leakdown test, and what do I need to do it?

Coolant forced out of overflow hose
Okay I will try the cap, but it looks like the original. Then I will go from there. Thanks Frankenstein Z

Coolant forced out of overflow hose
I have been having trouble with my coolant running out. When I drive the car after I fill up the coolant, as soon as I turn off the car half the coolant will get forced out the over flow hose on the radiator and on to the ground. I took off the radiator cap with the car running and coolant is moving all around so I think my water pump is good. I replace my thermostat also. Still the same problem the coolant just gets force out of the overflow hose and I bet it does it a little also when I am driving it. Let me know what you guys think. Oh by the way its a 72 240z. Thanks Frankenstein Z

Exhaust
What do you mean the seals, inside the car or are you talking on the exhaust?

Exhaust
I have a 72 240z. I have read in the forums that a good performance increase can be done with the addition of exhaust and headers (this also makes since to replace because after I get done driving my car my girlfriend won't come within a mile of me because of the fumes on my clothes). I was curious what everybody recommends as the best mix of exhaust and headers. Thanks Frankenstein Z

bulbs
Anyone know where to get bulbs for the 72 240z. On the panel covering the fuse box my choke light is out and also one of my amperage guage lights is out too. Let me know. Frankenstein Z

door panels
Thanks for all the advice, I found some cheap 280z, but i think i like the look of the 240z panels more, so i am going to hold out for some in motorsports.

door panels
Hey does anybody out there know for sure whether or not 78' 280z interior door panels can fit on a 72 240z. I knox this question has already been asked but there was no clear answer given. Let me know. Frankenstein Z

Dash removal
Sorry, I have a 1972 240z, I was interested in a chart, or info. for the wire harness that goes through the dash, and to the fuse box. Pretty much all electrical wiring into the car. I have the schematic out of the haynes manuel, but i was looking for something maybe with the color codes, some kind of diagram, at least something more specific that would help me rewire the dash into the car. Sorry for the confusion. Frankenstein Z

Dash removal
I might have gotten over my head a bit, but I went ahead and took off my dash to repair some electrical problems. I was hope someone might have charts or information on where to find wiring charts when i go to put my dash back on. Thanks Frankenstein Z
