wtf? 0-60 in 3.3? that's it? you'd think it'd be faster. weak!!! why don't you take a look at the caterham 7 superlight, R500. naturally aspirated, 1.8L, 230bhp, 0-60? 3.4 sec!!! yeah, the saleen's faster, by a tenth. but damn, you can get more than like ten caterham 7's for the price of one saleen S7. the caterham 7 defies convention. its based on the lotus 7. and yeah, all motor. w0w0w0w, i want one. and a lotus elise. w0w0w. and a VQ35 240Z. w0w0w

hehe, iono why, but i was thinking you got yourself a caterham super seven. ::shrugs:: i also thought you got a KPCG110. that'd be nice too.
  11. no, it definitely wasn't blue smoke. doesn't excess blue smoke signify a bad head gasket? its burnt coolant or something right? its dust, or some other dust-like substance. its brown. doesn't show when i start it up, though that's what i meant with the water. the dust came after revving pretty high (not *too* high though, hehe). kinda freaked me out, not sure what to make of it. maybe the piping's dirty? or rusted like 59 said...
  12. ok, so a friend of mine told me that he read somewhere/someone told him that when water spits out your exhaust when you rev, that your engine is healthy. now, today i revved my car up and dust came out, kinda brownish. is this because its old (72)? or is this indicative of a certain condition?
  13. definitely. a "true" sports car doesn't seem to go well with front wheel drive. unfortunately, lots of people can't handle RWD, so yeah. yup, the TT's quite different from the elise. depends what you want i guess. a comfortable sporty car, or a car that would own the street, not to mention the track (providing the driver bears the skill).

indeed. i was mistaken. it was a 260Z. no bother, someone else has two 240Z, one a '72 with an auto in seemingly good condition (she even claims it runs, which i doubt) and she also has another 240Z which she doesn't have the papers to, and its quite rusted. but it has a manual transmission, so i'm thinking of taking the rusty z's engine and trans and putting them in the 72. sound like a good idea?
  15. ardKore replied to 1 Bravo 6's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
haha, that almost happened to me today!!! oggling an orange 260Z. i turn towards my front and i'm inches from the guys bumper. hehe, i felt pretty dumb right then.
  16. i hear they're adding weight the the elise. an S4 is no audi A4. the new one's going to have the new V8, 4.3 liters methinks. the car weighs like a million pounds, but damn, its so nice!!! lotus advertises the elise as an affordable car, but i don't find it affordable. costs as much as a TT roadster. yeah, the tt weighs a million pounds too, but its so nice!!! hehe, sitting in an audi is so satisfying, it strikes one so much as to disregard sport quality. though the S4's are quite sporty. damn the uk, what about the caterham 7's?

  19. ah the elise. they're bringing the elise to the US next year. i'd love one, but 40,000 is toooooo much. you can get an audi S4 avant for that much.

ok so here's the scenario. i found a 1974 240Z for sale. its an automatic. i'm looking for stick. i know people have done the auto-manual swap, but what areas need to be addressed? is the compression different in the auto than the manual? i want a five speed, maybe from a 280Z, as i hear that's a popular swap. what say you?
  21. hehe, funny... i hear a lot of girls talking about how great the 350Z looks. if i hear a girl talk about how nice a car looks, its a 350Z. but yeah, lots of girls have a strange liking for 240Z's too.

werd. my mom had a little mild experience with that on a trip to texas in which we had a trailer hooked up to our suburban. the weather was bad and switched from rain to snow every so often. it was cold (around 30F) and when it rained the rain would freeze. the freeway had lots of bridges and there would be that sign to watch for ice on the bridge. well, my mom would slow down, or if she had the CC on, just drive through the bridges. the first time the trailer lost it and jerked the truck, but she remained on the road. the second time she slid at an angle but managed to regain traction safely. hehe, i wanted to drive after that. with the trailer i found that accelerating through the bridge would be safest, and if you want to go through it slowly, slow down BEFORE the bridge. when we lost traction slowing down on the bridge the trailer kept going because of its momentum, aggravating our slide, pushing our sliding car. so accelerating through the ice pulled the trailer. i'm not sure what my true point is, but well, if you're towing something and the bridges are icy, accelerate through them, or most importantly, don't slow down on the bridge. go influx datum go!
