I saw a green 240/260 on Freedom Pkwy several days ago in the rain. I also saw a wicked flat black Z on Peachtree Ind in Norcross on 6-17.
  4. Looks incredible!! Please keep us updated.

I know that guy!! The car was built by Turbo Tom (Tom Wyatt) years ago. Chevy 2.8 v-6, twin turbos, bosch fuel injection, I think it was producing close to 375 hp. The driver in the vid sold it and the new owner painted it black added Porsche wheels. It was on car domain at one time.
  6. send me a name and i will see what i can find
  7. Yeah, there is a ton of info here and some great looking cars!! I look forward to the next C&O.
  8. I stopped by for a few minutes but had other appointments to tend to. I parked by the China Bistro since I was in a rush. I should be able to make the next one and will try for a better parking space. http://s218.beta.photobucket.com/user/rendersafe/media/D5121442-0788-4AB1-B477-BB2A0382BB29-7133-00000A570F2FB292_zps7351a135.mp4.html
  9. Awesome pix!! Thanks
  10. Are there any updates to your build? I would love to see how the car looks now
  11. I seem to get the "my buddy in high school had one and we hit 160 mph" story quite often. (the myth) The previous owner who started the original restoration of my Z found, killed and counted 120 black widow spiders who had taken residence in the car. It's a nice story to share with people after they are buckled in and I am shifting into 5th gear (the strange fact)
  12. His 510 is awesome as well! I am really enjoying the car. I've added HID lights and re-tuned the carbs for my local altitude. Even though he installed a high end stereo, I only listened to one song the entire drive across the county. That engine and exhaust note were music enough. Man, all I can say is prepare the best you can, have some kind of towing service for the worst case scenario and simply enjoy the ride!! Watching the sunrise in NM Cheers, Steve
  13. Yes, it belonged to a guy in Tucson who is very much into the car scene. He is rocking a beautiful blue 510 now. And of the drive....absolutely one of the best experiences of my life!! Blasting across this country in an incredible car! Be sure to allow enough time in your schedule for talking to strangers as well....everywhere I stopped, someone had a Z memory to share.
  14. The above posts have covered most everything you could need, especially the AAA card. I recently did a fly and drive when I picked up my Z in Tuscon. I drove it back to Georgia and had the same concerns about the trip. Once you have your basic kit established be sure to take the second most important thing.....a camera!! When you look back over the years those pics will be priceless!

This is the station depicted in the first Cars movie. It was built in the 1930's and is located on Route 66 in Shamrock Texas. I just happened upon it as I was driving across the country in the Z.
