Chrome Surrounding Openings for Tail Lights on Rear Valence
I have some questions on the rear valence surrounding the tail lights that some one here no doubt has the answers - Of my three 240Zs, one 1971 has a thin chrome strip on the valence openings that surround the tail lights and the other 1971 and the 1972 do not have these chrome strips. Did all cars come with the thin chrome strips around the openings and two of my cars are missing them? Where would I acquire a set of these chrome strips? Hopefully this makes some sense. Thanks for your help Hank

New in the north
Super Dan - welcome to the wonderful disease that is the Z car. I am in the midst of restoring 2 1971 240Zs and have found this site invaluable - the folks here are always willing to share their knowledge, give opinions and advice. I have recently dealt with Jim Karst from Calgary - a great guy that had exactly the parts I required. We have an active Z Car club in Ontario, so if ever in the area, let me know. Enjoy. Hank

Tailight Panel Mounting Clips Broken
Gents - I need your advice. On the rear section of my 71 240, there is a series of "u" shaped clips (made of spring steel I think) that are welded to the body and hold the bottom of the tailight panel. A couple of mine are broken and I need to replace them. I don't see these parts available anywhere in the aftermarket. Do I have to find a donor car to get these pieces? I might as well replace all of them. Any ideas? thanks Hank

Suggestions on a light engine bay restoration
Gentlemen, thanks very much for the information and pictures - truely appreciated. I can only hope my engine will turn out as nice. A couple of more quick ones - what colour were the original spark plug wires? Black? Also - for the engine rebuilds, did you purchase the OEM braided heater hoses form The Z Store? thanks again

Suggestions on a light engine bay restoration
Gents, this is very timely, I am about to start the engine and engine bay refresh on my yellow 1971 Z. Does anyone have a few good colour pictures of the 1971 engine/engime bay showing the correct colours, zinc plated parts, hoses, etc? It would be great to have a reference. The engine/enginebay area on my 71 is all original but has about 100,000 miles on it By the way Chase - you engine and engine bay look pretty good to me already. thanks for any assistance

1971 Hubcap Question
Arne - right you are, the one oddball hubcap does have slightly different retainer clips in the valve stem area. Thanks for clearing this up.

1971 Hubcap Question
I have a 1971 240Z that came with the original "D" hubcaps in a box. By their condition, they look all original with no attempt at restoration (well used). While I was hanging them on the wall in the garage to keep them safer than on a bench, I noticed that 3 of the hubcaps had the valve stem hole above the "D" and one had the hole below the "D". This seems a bit odd to me but I could be wrong. Does anyone know if this is normal? Its not a big deal, but I thought the learned folks at this site may satisfy my curisoity. thanks
