I understand that most of the information that I am inquiring about is more than likely in a post somewhere, and believe me, I have done a ton of reading since I joined this site ! So, I hope you members won't hold it against me if I ask a few questions in hopes to gain some much needed guidance and enable me to get back out to the garage that much sooner. Having said that...here goes... To start with, I own a 73' 240z which has a 78' 5 speed and running gear, but not sure of the ratio. , 74' 260z, and a 75' 280z is the base for my project due to the fact it has the best body And I just pulled a turbo engine and transmission out on an 83' 280ZX 2+2 The plan is to install an engine management onto the FI system, while I rebuild the turbo engine. But couldn't decide which transmission and running gear would work best. I would also like to convert the rear drums to disk just to get it on the road. I have contacted a local import shop and have lined up some skyline calipers and rotors, but am having a hard time researching mounting hardware ect... keep in mind that I've been a welder fabricator for 14 years, so if I can get a diagram, I might be able to make it from scratch? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am a shop teacher and welder by trade. I am considering subitting my 73' 240Z to my class as a shop project, but have never tackled an autobody project until now. I have a 73' 240Z which requires new rockers, and both rear quarter patches. My question's for the rockers are: Plug welding vs seam welding the entire rocker?, The best way to seal the metal in behind the rocker (weldable paint, ect)?, Things to take in to consideration when cutting out the rear quarter patches, gas tank, ect.? I should think I have the neccessary tools, I just need a little orientation. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to know if anyone has successfully fabricated wheel adaptors for thier 240Z, converting to a Honda 4x100 patern? I have a friend who teaches at a local community college in nead of projects due to the rising cost of materials, and a tight budget. (CNC machining is available as well, if that may be the correct path to take?) This in turn gives the students an interesting learning experience and myself one step closer to starting another phase of the ever growing list of modifications I have in the works for my 73' 240Z. If anyone would have specific information dealing with dimensions, ect... it would be truly appreciated. I can be reached at j_wilgosh@hotmail.com
