Here is something I haven't found yet in other forums and hoped I could get some help with. My '78 280 needs a booster replacement. My Datsun 1970-1978 shop manual says the '78 comes with a 7 1/2" diameter booster which I am learning is very dificult to come by. There are 8 1/2" diameter boosters out there. Are these different sized boosters interchangeable on the '78?

Chuck, thanks. In fact one of the bolts on that stay bracket IS welded but the 2nd one comes out along with enough of the bracket that the panel can slide past it from the top. As I was unbolting the stay bracket I thought to myself, "Now I remember doing this along time ago!"

Hello everyone! After 4 years of watching my '78 280 basically just sit there, I'm finally serious about getting her back in shape. Its amazing how much I have forgotten about Zs since I parted with my 3rd Z in 1982! I'm hoping to learn from all of you and your experiences. I'm also hoping to DIY as much as possible so I can keep the Bride content! I cant remember for the life of me how to get to the antenna mast. That quarter panel is tough. It looks like the hinge to the tailgate stay is blocking it. If I'm right then how do I get that hinge off?
