  1. Okay. PM send
  2. Nice find by the way ! Keep it stock and just enjoy it. Don't go modding it !
  3. I thought the 3rd synchro going out was a common problem.. I don't think some mysterty oil is going to fix it. He better might have it rebuild, there in the US there are plenty of shops who can do that easily. Not so easy to find here.. " uh it's old and when don't have experience with this japanese thing let alone parts "
  4. Tried that also, but I clearly SAW a lot of play in the hinges when pushing down on the hood, before the accident that wasn't the case, So I guess the " hit " made the hood pull the hinges up, wrecking the pivot points and geometry.. I will look for hinges hopes this makes it much better ?

The Mustang is driving me crazy.. the shop here in The Netherlands who build the AOD, forgot to modify other things like the input shaft and transgo shift kit. He only put in the clutch pack. Even the converter was wrong. So it shifted way to early in kickdown and also the converter grabbed way to quick ! He has been re-doing it, I hope to pick it up end of this week or begin next week, and then have it back under the Mustang before winter kicks in. I will further drive and tune it then in spring.. Hope it can handle the horsepower and torque of the 351C now.. It seems there are few shops with experienced people left who can build a decent automatic tranmission when it comes to performance ? ...
  6. € USD ?
  7. I tried that, it got a little better but still not good.
  8. Anybody here might have a good set laying around willing to sell? By that I mean with no " play " in the pivot points of the hinges.. Since my car was hit in the front a few years ago, and after the damage repair by the body shop, the hood was still to high up in the front, and the shop couldn't repair it they said.. I went looking for the problem last week, and found when I push the hood down with my hand, there is alot of play in the hinge, so I guess that when my car was hit, the bonnet was pushed up a little and this stretched the hinges out... ( before the hit the hood was aligning fine.. Bart
  9. So this still leaves us with no answer then... @kats i have the us export model
  10. I did read the info you guys gave me. Some say they came from the factory with it and many say they don't and it was just a dealer option ? And the 240Z and later 260/280Z have different splash pans ? I just want to know if they came from the factory with that splash pan ( 240Z ) ? if not, then I don't want it either...
  11. For 240Z.. I don't know the english name for it. I'm looking for one for my 71

Cleaned up the 240Z. And picked up the Ford AOD gearbox, hopefully this time it's done " right ". It was sold to me as a 700hp tranny, but they shop who rebuild it now with performance parts, said it was totally stock !

I have to spend a day or maybe 2 giving it a good cleanup and polish and wax and do the chrome. But these days it's around 40/41c here, I cannot do anything then sit behind the airconditioning .... and swim.
  14. Nice pictures ! I noticed the front bumper is a little extended, and has a plastic spacer between it, als the rear seems to have some plastic between it. Was this normal to the 73 ?

Allright.. the axles are back under the car, also replaced the front lower ball joints ( pain .. ) , dynamo v belt and transmission oil. The transmission and differential may need a rebuild in the future ( within 5 years ), but for now I will leave it at this, it still works fine, it's not bad. I torqued everything down on the front when the car was on it's wheels ( pushed the suspension a few times before torquing it down, thought it was better this way. I had to kill a socket in the turning bench to fit on the castle nut tight space, so I could torque it down to 70 NM. I will need to get it re-aligned coming week, but then I can drive it again for few more summer months.. ( hope weather will be dry... ) The Mustang I am waiting for the AOD Automatic transmission to come back in a few weeks, and will work from there..

Going to pick up the axles today, planning on having her back on the road next week.
  19. Yes.. parts prices are allready going up ( are pretty high allready ), but that's for most classic cars from the late 60's, early to mid 70's... The older they become, the more costly to maintain. I have a rebuild E31 head laying around, but I notice nobody is willing to pay for it what it's worth.. And I am not giving it away for free either, so she can remain on the shelf
  20. Very nice job you have done there. Lot's of details... Love the work. The hardest part is keeping it clean and looking like that, in here I live in a 4 season's climate, that is having a toll on everything. But I am fine with that, just keep it looking nice, and give it the usual attention and cleaning every year. It doesn't have to be a trailer queen for me.

The Mustang I had problems with the AOD that came from a shop in Florida " they claimed " up to 700hp, well it failed within 200 miles or so when I gave it some real power to it. Oil smelled burned as hell when I drained it.... Car was slipping in drive badly. Tired of sending it back and losing trust in that shop ( bye bye 2 k...$$$), I found a local USA transmission shop that also specializes in high performance, so I am pretty condifent it will work out this time, and the tranny will hold the power. Let's wait and see. Also I did manage to tune the engine a bit more, it needed way more fuel.. and I adjusted the timing curve. Not done yet there, but I need a good AOD first...

I haven't been driving much with the Z lately, the weather just started to clear up in June.. I did adjust the valves ( it was mostly the exhaust valves, which needed adjustement.. ) back to spec. Gave it some new oil and a nissan oil filter. When inspecting the car from underneath I found out the joints from the driveshafts where worn out.. So currently al 3 shafts are at a local rebuild shop. Other things to do are replacing the lower ball joints in the front, and the v belt for the dynamo. Expecting to have her back on the road in 2 weeks or so :) I also fixed to antenna. Nylon cord was broken off..
  23. Now we know how that worked out :O Glad you now have it at a " professional paint shop "...
