View inside Fuel tank, previous coating?
It's not that bad looking at the pictures. I would clean up the feed and return lines, and have them re-soldered. ( would not cost much ) The inside I would put alot of nuts and bolts in there together with some cleaning vinegar. Shake it for a while, leave it a day, then shake again, then drain the tank and see how it looks. If it's clean use por15 fuel tank coating ( 3 steps ). The first time I would fill it up with gas, and slush it around for a while, and then drain it again, then put new gas again, when it's under the car, Put a new fuel filter and you are ready to go. - Soldering = cheap - Cleaning vinegar and nuts and bolts = cheap - Por 15 fuel tank coating .. $ ? Another option would be sandblasting the outside ( cheap option.. drill and wire wheel ) of the fuel tank, then have it soldered, and then repaint it. Steps for the inside the same.

My Datsun 240Z
The inners he used them from another brand and modified them to fit, to look like the original, at least that's what I was told by him. Outers came from a shop in the US.

Hagerty Does It Again!
I ment a moderate pressure washer, like the ones @ the carwash, not a 120 bar pressure washer ( That's what they do also before your car goes into an automatic car wash... ) I agree the microfiber mits are better offcourse...

Hagerty Does It Again!
Nice. I use the pressure washer first, before using soap and a sponge, because if you just rinse it and use the sponge, the dirt/sand is still on there, and you are making scratches... just saying

Turn signals don't work '80 280ZX
Get a multimeter and start measuring ! Turn on the turn signals and measure if you have a 12v pulse going to the turn signals. Put Multimeter on 12 DC So: Put left turn signal on, and start measuring on the connectors of the front and rear left light bulb. You should measure at least a max peak of 9 volts. If not, go measure voltage @ the flasher relay. This way you can trace the problem.

Options to Restore Plastic Panels
I had the same problem with the panels in my Mustang. Simply de-grease them, sand it with 500, then de-grease again and directly paint it with motip black matte, a few layers ( for wear ) http://www.motip.com/products/motip/automotive/universal-lacquers/lacquer-black/ Comes out like Original.
