yeah, but your 240z needs more than that mart, i wouldn't call it " vibration free " when i sat in it years ago. if you want to do it properly you need to invest big bucks in all the old rubber suspension parts etc

Well that didn't last long, the bolts made it rattle, cut it off. I ordered a used old one from Ebay, let's be patience, and put that on...

I did not have a spare differential band by hand, so i made a temp one myself. See if it holds for now... The Nylon belt isn't so strong either
  4. something is of on that first yellow one that went for 60k. sits odd on the springs, as a mechanic point of view that looks like a slapped and glued together car for big bucks , wonder how it drives lol

Have the 240z on the bridge for refurbing the underside. Saw the diff arrestor belt snapped 🤡. Just replaced that 2 years ago. Oh well... Immitation parts.. Does anyone have the original color code of the grey on the rear taillight panel? Original finish was matte? Its going to the paint shop next year for a few spots and the rear deck lid, so might as well do this
  7. There where technical drawings of that vapor tank, and where all the lines go, don't know the topic though
  8. These pictures are really good for my OCD ( kidding )
  9. mine is 5-71 and had the rubber mats... i think it's the same with all the changes that where applied through the months/years, some old stock was used on some later cars to, untill the left overs where gone, some earlier ones might have the rubber mats switched to carpet, and some not ?
  10. yep, they looked like that. It's funny you say carpeting was added with jute at the port of entry. Mine had the rubber mats laying on top of that
  11. Hey Kats, My Z car came with dryed out rubber mats with datsun on it. Did they first years 240z came with rubber mats, that later changed to jute ?
  12. pretty cool, choke knob and auto throttle and cig lighter knob are from a later year though
  13. Why? It doesn't have to costs much if you can do the sheet metal work yourself, i've just finished metal work on a 67 chevelle that came from Michigan, that was half gone, trunk, inner wheels well, rockers, etc. Chassis also half gone. Only spended 6k in materials, the rest is time.
  14. it does has the nissan 2400 valve cover, very early 240z, if you could do the metal work yourself, and strip it down and put it on a rottiserie, it wouldn't have to cost tons, but then again, if you have to spend that out, it's better not to, just part it out.
  15. I use Kroon Classic oil here in the netherlands, they recommend 15w40 , 20w50 seems way to thick to me for a stock L24 to L28... Classic Multigrade 15W-40 productinformatie. - Kroon-Oil Lucas oil seems to have a 10w40 to I see

Bad weather last 3 weeks, battery was flat. Time to start today and drive some.. Saw the return hose dripping, replaced all the rubber fuel lines and oem filter. I did have some fuel smell in the cabin with the windows down, thats gone now, so it was that. 😴
  18. Besides it's a nice towel rack now in the summer, to dry my beach towels
  19. I like it . Like that little weight matters now Mart.. the car only has 150hp, today's 1.2 have that...

Thanks Chas, i'm doing my best to keep it in good condition. In the fall it will go to the paint shop, to have some spots re-done, and the rear hatch deck ( common issue ). How are you doing lately? Gr Bart

    JDM classic car event yesterday
  23. It can be saved, but you will have to cut up half the car, a good body guy with patience can do it. The rear wheel arches have been modified wrongly before, look closely, the lines are all wrong. You will find horror on that body ones you strip it down, if you ever want to. It's a low vin worth saving, it's not like you start finding these everyday
  24. That's better then it ever came off the factory 😀
