Maybe not, sheet metal work doesn't have to be expensive if you have the skills and time... if you have to let a body shop do it.. yes. Great find ! Would be awesome to see this restored back to glory..
  2. It doesn't have to be really expensive to be a fun driver and still look nice. There's alot of rust on the back as far as I can see on the pictures. If one of your buddies is a welder, he could fix that maybe, don't know his skills. I see people do alot of DIY paintjobs in the USA, so maybe that's a cheap option for you ? Also I would rent a sand blaster, and just blast the entire car ( really you don't want to go wire brushing or rust converter just doesn't work ), repair the bad spots, and then DIY paintjob... doesn't have to be expensive and will look pretty good. But like others members above say, don't spend to much money on this one.
  3. There's a certain crowd that's attracted to Italian cars..and especially Alfa's. There's certain drawbacks to Italian classics, prepare to wrench alot to They are fun to drive.

  7. The ones from Harrington are made in Vietnam I believe, it's polished stainless steel. So no rust, but not original and heavier. I once got an e-mail from Rocky Auto Japan where they said the stock bumpers where made from garbage steel with very little chrome plating ( cheap as possible ). Reminds me of that chrome work I see on the Chinese scooters here..
  8. better do a complete overhaul of the brake system, this is something you don't want to save money on !
  9. Naah...it's fluoride and all the other stuff they put in the GMO foods !
  10. Could it be that new cars have to much technology and computers assisting in driving that people are forgetting to learn how to actually drive a car ? Do you think people in 2050 will know how to operate a 1970's car with manual choke?
  11. Finally someone who comes up with this ! I live here in The Netherlands, and it's really bad, to much idiot drivers imo, don't know what's going on ? Also they can't maintain constant travelling speeds which is very annoying.. and all those speed bumps and speed regulations here don't help either.. This country is really to small to enjoy some cruise, except the highway, it's constantly slowing down and accelerating.. All the points i've read above here, it's also here..like the high beams etc, alot actually.. By the way you should check out traffic in Russia it's mad !

Yesterday I re-polished my mag wheels again...lot's of elbow grease First wet sand to max 1000 grit, then polished it by hand with Autosol. Took me about 6 hours for all 4.
  17. Not mine, but from my dad. There's more ( better ) pictures in his photo album, will need to look it up. He also lost track of it. I'm still trying to figure out the build date... and if it was a Dutch one or imported. It had the entire front end replaced en new paint job. This should be late 70's/ early 80's somewhere..
  18. Another step further What I Always do with the tie rods, so you don't have to break a sweat or destroy any tools is just heat up the outer housing, then slightly wake it up with a hammer on top, and it will pop out easily.
  19. 60 liters is large here, some german cars hold 85 liters or more. With the fuel prices here that's not gonna make you happy.
  20. Happy new year everyone

I believe they do it, because fireworks under the public is banned there ?
  22. You wouldn't be able to find it if you tried, nestled deep in the Chiba-ken countryside, a stone-throw away from the new Sodegaura Forest Raceway. This is where magic happens, you feel it the instant you set foot inside one of the garages where restoration projects are underway. Car Builder>> Ta Auto | Speedhunters
  23. Yeah I noticed it to...
  24. Undercoating also has a function of protection against road debris , and all sorts of functions... if only paint, it will easily be damaged. What you think the wheel will throw around in the wheel well when driving on the road ?
  25. Nothing, she got enough attention allready
