Thanks. Yeah I believe that's what the original information says also. Took the 240Z out for a drive partly in Germany again today. The weather was not so good. But it was a nice cruise again There's a few things on my mind, firstly the whining of the differential. My patience is running dry waiting for the diff from the US. If it will not show up in Januari I will be bringing away my current differential for a rebuild. Secondly I'd really like the have a 5 speed for both overdrive/lesser fuel consumption and more speed on highway, since I feel the engine has power enough on the light car. But I don't like to modd it with later era parts...
  2. Those 50's trucks are awesome ! My brother likes to have one, but their are really expensive here

Looks like those JDM fenders, not my cup of tea. But some people like em. I personally like the original look of the Z car.
  4. It's been weeks and I haven't seen wet floors since I repaired it ( see above ). @ jwtaylor, I'm borrowing your pic, to give my idea of what's the problem. The red line indicates the lowest part of the cowl, and the road which the rain water needs to flow through, to both sides where the draines are. The yellow indicates the main water blocking area, and also where the biggest rust occurs. The green indicates the factory seal. In my opinion the factory seal is to thick, creating a " dam " so the rain water can't go out easily, and it also lets some water remain standing infront of the seal, causing rust and eventually a leak.. What I did was scrape all the old seal off, in the entire cowl, so the surface is smooth ( allowing rain water to flow easily to the sides ), and applied a layer of rubber coating, which does 2 jobs all at once ( seal and help guide rainwater ).
  5. ^ I went to K 2013, the worlds largest plastics and 3d printing demonstrations there. I have to say impressive. But those machines are pretty expensive.

I bought something interesting from Ebay: Original 1971 ad signed by Mr.K in 2011 in Tokyo.
  9. Look to my pictures above. You have to remove the paint with a wire brush, so you can see the spotwelds, and then drill them out. Then you can remove the cover that's over the intake vent and have more room to work. It's hard to reach on the area between the air intake tube and the firewall, but that's the most important spot. I used alot of patience, small screw drivers to scrape of dirt and a work light. You also need to remove the wiper motor.

  12. We had some heavy rain here last week, but haven't seen wet floors, they are dry. So I assume it's working..
  13. Good point there... the Japanese indeed had 2 litre versions from the L series. And then there is the 432 engine aswell...
  14. Kicking this up, still searching for one..

I only have the original hip belts. But if you crash in a 240z at high speed I don't think much will remain..
  16. I think this picture sums up the main reason why the cowl to firewall seal eventually starts leaking and soaking the floors.. making the floors rust. There only a tiny area of the cowl under those supports that allows rain water to drain to the sides.

  19. I've printed that one, and put in the garage on the wall IMO the text is even relevant today, mine does get attention everytime, everywhere... it's not like a 240Z is a common sight here.. mostly the European and American classics..
  20. The color could have faded a little over time...
  21. I got some parts yesterday from Reddat also known as George Robbins. But have to say all the parts are genuine nissan parts. So I have no complains.
