You mean road force balancing? There's only companies in the west who do that. Anyhow I don't think it's that. I will try 4 new shocks first.. ordered a set of KYB from Ebay, will have them next week. Will see what it does. I did read they have a critical function with McPherson suspensions...

  5. Make sure you use enough oil on everything, for the first start. Better to much then to less really.
  6. I'm using Fram to, we mostly get those here. I did tighten with hand, but had to re-tighten with hand several times, because it came loose, due vibrations of the engine block I think, but now it seems to hold, after a few re-tightening.
  7. I once saw a post on Hybrid Z where somebody put a 7 series bmw v12 into a 240z...
  8. That engine block turned out nice Will be nice to see the whole thing together again soon.

Got the new tires on Dunlop Streetresponse. Made a big difference, now it only has some small vibrations. I will change schoks and all rubber bushings/moutings, and joints over time. Also ordered 16 new bolts for the wheels, the old ones are tired. Pics to follow.
  15. That's why I said, go back to mechanical pump with the su's and try..
  16. Chris, you still working on it?
  17. Could be, but he also has coolant on top of each piston, if the waterpump would leak into the block, it wouldn't be on top of the piston, must be the head gasket.
  18. Cool ! Mine also turns 42 this month. ( 5/71 )

what's wrong with the mechanical pump anyhow?
  20. try another head gasket brand than MSA..
  21. Is the head gasket oem nissan or some immitation brand? Some gaskets can give troubles.
  22. Okay, is it possible to find the gearbox code, from underneath the car? Than I can have a look. My car is date 5/71 stamped into it, north us market, this would make it a series II according to eurodat's post above? Nils his 240Z is a euro market, not sure about his build date, have to ask.
  23. And did you find anything so far?
  24. mm.. so to be short, i'd rather stick with the 4 speed then? If I have to cut the tunnel up to make it fit, and change the driveshaft and diff, it will be to much really
