  1. the older bmw m series with straight 6 engines are beast though, although I believed they are less hp in us? my brother got a 325 e36 with 200 hp, that's not an m3, but it was pretty fast ( topped almost 250 km/h gps ) and ****loads of torque. or get a japanse straight 6 engine car like a skykine or supra and make it twin turbo
  2. I think if I had that much money, I would just drop the Z at the best classic car restoration shop, and dump a **** load of cash on the counter and say good luck!
  3. I know what you mean about the cold though, I use alot of diesel during the winter months for heating. Now the goverment banned the cheaper red diesel here, so have to look for alternative next year winter.

Good news: tomorrow I can pick up the new brake shoes for the rear, and repaired brake cilinder for rear left So RDW will be mid next week... Worked a bit on it again, sprayed half of the inside of the rear fenders and made all the plastic in the back locked again in place with the correct speednuts. ( all where missing ). The fun part is, I got the radio antenna back working somehow , it's still the original one, but the motor was all cooked up inside, it looked like I couldn't repair it, but somehow after some greasing and cleaning it went back to life... made a good solid bracket for it so it won't come loose. Still waiting for brake cilinder and rubber seals, so in the meanwhile I started on the passenger door when I had some time between work, cleaned up the inside of all loose rust, opened up the drain holes in the bottom and spraying tectyl wax inside, then covering the holes with plastic and using double sided tape to keep the doorpanel on.
  17. I second that, very beautiful !
  18. The pictures are all saying " save me from death "
  19. Don't have a part number, but the picture above shows the sizes..., I got it at an industrial supplier for all kinds of rubber seals.

  21. mmm.. I think if your going for a complete restoration, you wonˊt have any worries for a long time to come, but on part―resto zˊs there always will be something to do?
  22. I think so.. it's just pushed onto the metal edge. I don't know what immitation brand door seals that was on the car, but the problem was it was way to strong, I couldn't even push it to the 2nd click without some serious force, with the new seal it needs a little push to here the 2nd click, so it is actually compressing the seal which is needed, but the seal compresses much easier..which makes the door easier to close without slamming. The lower side of the passenger side door was also sticking out on the bottom ( you can clearly see on the pictures above ), with the new seal it was solved, I did need to adjust the cath plate a little, but it made a huge difference.

Thanks I hope to get back to the RDW this week. I'm waiting for my brake cilinder to be repaired. Brought them to a specialised company I know, I also let them do both brake shoes with new segments, since there was not much left on them. There's still many small things to do on the Z, but will do that during the summer months.
  24. Okay so this morning I went to the nearest city, to a shop I know which has all kinds of rubber profiles. To bad the one I needed was temporary not available, but I can order today, and I will have it in 2 days. Anyhow they still got a small piece of a meter left, so I could try back home... Next thing was amazing.. I noticed the seal is very soft which makes it very easy to close the door, and checked with a lamp inside for a seal against the door, and it does it's job perfectly! Also the seal is clamp/seal in one, so I don't need to use clamp anymore that was on the body to hold the seal in place. I ain't much expensive either. Pictures say more then words: Here's the old seal that came out: The new seal: And what I did on the car's body: Video ( listen 2 clicks ), second video see how easily the door closes, without slamming...
