  1. Almost done.. paint shop says Friday... Finally the old girl ready again
  2. I ment a moderate pressure washer, like the ones @ the carwash, not a 120 bar pressure washer ( That's what they do also before your car goes into an automatic car wash... ) I agree the microfiber mits are better offcourse...
  3. Nice. I use the pressure washer first, before using soap and a sponge, because if you just rinse it and use the sponge, the dirt/sand is still on there, and you are making scratches... just saying
  4. 1 month passed.. lots of work done on the 240Z. It's almost ready for paint.. maybe 1 or 2 more weeks. I guess it's ready again in end of April.
  5. Go to a garage and have the CO measured this can give you an idea.
  6. Get a multimeter and start measuring ! Turn on the turn signals and measure if you have a 12v pulse going to the turn signals. Put Multimeter on 12 DC So: Put left turn signal on, and start measuring on the connectors of the front and rear left light bulb. You should measure at least a max peak of 9 volts. If not, go measure voltage @ the flasher relay. This way you can trace the problem.
  7. Those asian tuners have kind off an odd taste. But that's okay if they like it.. , I certainly not.
  8. Nobody wearing a space suit ? !
  9. Heck.. I just sold used side makers for 60 bucks.. you can buy them new for cheaper
  10. Boat clear coat.. brushed it on, the finish is really smooth and briliant shine. And it's a thick layer, I tried spray laquer before, but the result with this stuff is a much better shine

  14. I had the same problem with the panels in my Mustang. Simply de-grease them, sand it with 500, then de-grease again and directly paint it with motip black matte, a few layers ( for wear ) http://www.motip.com/products/motip/automotive/universal-lacquers/lacquer-black/ Comes out like Original.

  21. Hey Chas, I replaced the shoes and the 2 master cylinders, they where old and tired anyway. It was € 120,- for everything parts... Now tuesday I am going back, and it should pass this time.I tested the brakes with a local garage here who has the same brake testing equipment as the RDW has, and it was okay. So it should be fine.
  22. props to you injection goeroes...
  23. The heat shield seems to be more darker tint gray finish. I used Motip Wheelspray Silver on mine, think it came out fine.
  24. Hey Chas, yeah you'r right, it needs an overhaul. I didn't replace the shoes, because there was plenty of material on them left. I just removed the drums, and inspected the two sides visual with a light, and I can clearly see the left side which shown 1.8 kn on the test, the pad is evenly touching the drum and no glaze, the right side has like 80% glaze and it's touching the drum only in a few places, this side had a reading of 0.8 kn... 1 kn less ! The brake drums do not feel worn out, and the cylinders don't leak, I think it's just a matter of replacing the brake shoes. I can also spot a crack on both sides of the brake shoes, running the entire length of the shoe. They must have overheated at some point in the past ?
