@ Siteunseen: I have no idea really, E31's didn't come with a spray bar right ? Getting it back together..

Yeah it's true. I get like a dozen scammer mails in my inbox everday, even faked bank alerts, It's easy to see though, don't know why so many people still fall in these kind of traps
  3. I think they where used up until the end of 71 or something like that, cause mine also has the E31 and is from 5/71.. It's been discussed before there's no clear transation from series 1 ( as we call it ) to series 2/3 etc.. My car for instance still has alot of series 1 features for a series 2 car, so maybe we have a new thing here and it's called series 1 1/2

  6. Mine is from 5/71 and also has the E31 head, maybe one of the last. Seems they where used pretty long still.

Yeah.. just waiting fort he cylinder head and then I can get everything back together. Last weekend we visited a US car meeting at the Sinsheim Museum in southern Germany. Lot’s of classic US cars ! 4 to 500 cars I think.. Really cool to see so much US classic car fans.. Here’s some pictures we took. The brown Buick Electra is from my brother. It’s the largest Electra ever built ( 1975 ) with the 455 cu engine.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn-prZ3cRZY

Okay just called with the engine rebuild shop they said they can save the head but it's going to take a while need to send it to another shop. I searched around and Al from California Datsun has an E31 laying around luckily..., so I will order this one from him, and put the other one when it's repaired on the shelf.

The E31 cylinder head is warped, and the engine shop is trying to get it back, it needs to go 0.9mm . If not working I have 2 options: let a shop in the US repair the head or search another E31 head... There's no company here to be found that can do it. I found several E88 heads but I'd like to keep the E31...

Most parts have arrived, and some are still under way from ZcarDepot. Ryan is doing a great job in helping me out.

Meanwhile getting everything ready to go back on the engine.. Made paint to match original , on a piece of paint that was still there on the bracket of the alternator, had it scanned at a local paint shop and put into cans. It seems the original paint contains blue and green, with more light exposure it looks more blue, but in the dark or garage it goes more towards turqoiuse.. click image upload image sharing
  23. Loved it haha, that's some good description right there !
  24. This should be the right color I believe, mine does the same thing, it's because of the blue and green content in the original paint. The more light exposure, the more blue you see.
  25. It should be the right color, MartZedCars ( Mart ) who's on the forum here also had some original brochures laying around, which showed the engine color like the picture from 73str86 above.. The more light exposure, the more blue you see in it.
