Just noticed an S30 model in the song stranger in moscow from michael jackson in the first part
  3. Chas, I found the bearings closer to home than I thought. LemmTech in Zevenaar has them also the oil seals.. Around 25/30 euro for a bearing. Your information helped Gr Bart
  4. It would ne nice to see it restored back to original not much L20 with E30 head engines around.
  5. I know what you mean with the burn out on metal work. Nice work so far, you'll get there
  6. Hi Chas, Yeah from Marktplaats.. got it for a good price yup. Gr Bart
  7. I know he doesn't respond the e-mail much or quickly. Calling would be your better option.
  8. Here's the same lamp, sandblasted, looks alot better allready. I will hold it as a spare. It works perfectly, just not zinc plated, but that would be cheap now to do so..
  9. This is here in the Netherlands. I know the garage, got some parts there for my Z. I know it was a very low VIN, but don't know the number right now. ASR Auto Service Rozendaal ( go left to occasions, scroll down bottom left the black one )
  10. Hoi Chas, Seems the add misled me then, saying it was for a 240z.. ( I think they made a mistake then ) I was doubtful when I saw the bearings. Than I will have to look for the right ones, you allready gave me the numbers Gr Bart
  11. Yeah I'm going to change them, they must be in there for a long time. I allready did the front wheel bearings. But I am not sure if they are correct, because the add says it's for Datsun 240Z, but like Blue shows above those are different bearings ? But you say they are the same, so I'm confused.. So I'm asking just to be sure, before I take everything apart to find out they don't fit..
  12. It said datsun 240z and datsun 260z in the advertisement.. DATSUN NISSAN 240Z 260Z NEW BRT REAR WHEEL BEARING KIT | eBay Here's some pictures My worry is that I read that the outer bearing has an extended inner sleeve
  13. I just repaired my current one last weekend, and it works fine. I painted it silver, don't really care to get it zinc plated. And just picked up another one here by chance, seems the lens is pretty good still ?
  14. Thanks :classic: Yeah replace the gasket first, see what happens. Make sure the mixture screws on both carbs are turned out equally.
  15. The steering coupler also helped again with the vibration.. I have the rear wheel bearings in house now, still waiting for the axles with the new u-joints to arrive this week to replace. Hopefully that does alot
  16. here video footage, there's several on youtube
  17. Looking at the picture above there's something wrong with the carbs or the intake must be leaking somewhere. The spark plugs should all color about the same. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  18. I replaced the old and tired steering coupler today. ( old vs new ).
  19. I would say yes, it's still an L series engine. But not sure. We need the experts on here
  20. Fred, maybe something like this ? Spec Clutch Kit Stage 2 Fit Nissan Datsun 240Z 260z | eBay
  21. I would fix that header leak first. Set valve clearance also, set timing to around 15 degrees before tdc with vacuum advance disconnected. You should not mess with the spark plug gap, I did that last time, and the engine ran really bad, then I checked the manual and it says around 0.8 that's the standard factory gap. Leave the gap as it is out of the box don't mess with it. I would recommend B6ES not BPR6ES as the manual recommends. I've found the standard plugs run better. Also watch if the plug says made in Japan ( usually black letters ) or made in France ( blue letters ), you will need the made in Japan, somehow I found problems with the made in France ones. I found there's not much to adjust to SU's, the main mixture screw is the most important, if you can't get them right to need to either be rebuild or changed with another good working pair. I had the same problem with mine, they where just worn out, causing vacuum leak on the butterfly shaft also.
  22. That's alot of snow.. my dad told me whe had snow that high in the past here, but haven't seen it yet in my lifetime.
  23. There's many things that are not original on that 260z including the paint job and ugly spoiler.. Looks indeed like the've done nothing with it, just re-selling it for a slight profit.
  24. Hot pressure wash it up on a bridge, let it dry and paint up the rusted parts as much as you can. I wouldn't use acids.
  25. It's not so long ago I painted the parts of my suspension but the front end is allready showing surface rust on some parts due the weather conditions right now. It's a constant fight against the elements I tell ya... :knockedou
