Springs....Eibach oor Tokiko or what?
I tried to order a set of Tokico Illuminas this week from MSA and unfortunately they are out of stock. Something to do with Tokico losing their distributor in North America. Anyone know where these are in stock?

PayPal and a cardboard box is a good combo to get what you need to your front door.

Gigantic warehouse sale full of 240z parts
He's still working on them, just slowing it down a bit and I'm helping him sell off a few things. He's great with SU carbs and I've had some success with craigslist, so this is a team effort.

trying to find a s30 to restore
Here's one for sale just south of Atlanta. Much better shape than than your link, yet still some rust areas under the battery and along some window edges. Looks to already have a 280z engine and tranny swap. A cool project.... 1972 240Z

Headlight covers with chrome trim.....
As smart as the guy who gave them to me looked, I don't think he realized what he actually had. Or maybe he did? I sure didn't, but I do know now thanks to this thread. And now I feel like I left money on the table (damn greed.) Who knows what would these have actually gone for if I didn't put a "buy it now" price?!

Well, ok then! That auction sold out in less than 2 min. Thanks for looking anyway!

Headlight covers with chrome trim.....
Hey Guys, I'm restoring a 240z and I've had a bunch of parts "donated" recently to my cause. One of the most interesting items is a clear set of headlight covers. I didn't realize the rarity of these until I put them on Craigslist to barter for other Z parts and got a ton of calls & emails in the first 10 minutes. Turns out that these are in high demand. My agreement with the guy who gave me these was to use them or trade / sell them so that I could continue my own Z restoration. For maximum exposure (and hopefully enough to pay for a paint job) I've listed them on eBay. Don't shoot me for being a capitalistic American. Subwoofer option
I installed a sound system in my Z this past weekend. Went with JVC head unit, 4's in the door and 6.5's in the rear. What's interesting is the subwoofer I found to give it some much needed bass. This unit will fit in your wheel well with no mods needed. Packs a good punch and comes with an amp built in the box. Kicker 11HS8 Hideaway? compact powered subwoofer: 150 watts and an 8" sub at Crutchfield.com You can lay the spare tire pressboard cover over the wheel well, and with carpet on top its nice and flat. Easy to install, only drawback is you have to get rid of the spare tire. That's more weight anyway!

Transmission Tunnel Vinyl Install
I ripped all the jute out and used Murdermat. Good value. Messy work to remove the hairy junk. Nice new layer now to lay down the original diamond vinyl.

I spy a z!
Here's a whole row of Z's spotted at the latest Caffeine and Octane in Alpharetta, GA on 6/1. I'll join this group next month with my restoration-in-progress.

Turn signals reversed in dash
My turn signals and exterior lights all work great, except the green signal arrows in the tach are reversed. Any suggestions? My tach is also intermittent. Related? '73 240z

hood hinge
The hinges are the same color as the body. They are easy to get out and back in. Does yours have the bars that connect the hinges across & behind the grill? That's what gives them some tension to keep up the hood I'm guessing. I've seen the hood function fine without those bars.

Sound deadening and heat shielding materials
Here's my progress. I've used all 80 sq ft of murdermat already, and still nothing on doors. Already has a much more soild sound inside. Got it in and laid out some carpet and vinyl for estimated future look.

Erratic tach, missing and idling poorly
Now that's someone dedicated to following up on a post!

Sound deadening and heat shielding materials
I've ordered 80 sq ft (2 40' packs) of the BL version of Murdermat for about $225 with free shipping. The sales rep said that it would probably take 60 sq ft to do the whole car. I'm talking floorboards, tranny tunnel, firewall, doors, roof and trunk area. He also said that there isn't a reason to buy their thicker stuff, as I'll probably have some left over and can easily double up on concerned areas. My problem was getting all that nasty, hairy jute off the bare metal. Check out the green monster!

do I need an electric fuel pump?
+1 on fuel filter. I already replaced mine once and only a few weeks later (after a fill up) I have some lagging as described above. I think I stirred up some sediment on the fill up. I need to have my entire tank drained.
