I can do that but not till Monday, motor is at work. I do remember they where the 3 bolt cap so this would be early 240z? E80 or E88 intake manifold.

Just about done, not sure if the red cam cover and orange air filter cover go together. May end up running the brushed alloy cam cover instead, will see what it looks like in the car.

Good luck with the sale, I really don't look forward to selling stuff and having to deal with time wasters.

No, that's why I didn't just rebuild the 260z engine. Combined the 240k with 260z so can still use original dipstick hole. That seemed to be the main issue, swapping sumps and pick-ups didn't look too bad but the dipstick looked more difficult. In using both motors I could machine the 240 pistons and use the longer rods to basically give me flat pistons instead of dished. Local parts guy has 240z's and said this was the mod back in the day to keep l24 engine numbers.

Engine getting closer now, still waiting on a gasket set from amazon but have got it this far with stuff I already had. Going to run with the original 260z air fliter housing for now at least. Painted that in Chev orange which is not a very good match but looks good I think. Have been reading many posts on what kind of power to expect and don't know what to think. Some really low educated guesses and some high, then I look at Robello's mods and he can really squeeze some power out of these things. Just hoping for a noticeable improvement, may dyno if I get really keen. Mods are: 240K 83mm block 260Z crank 240 83mm pistons shaved 2.79mm 240 rods Ported head E88 head ( by who?) Not sure on cam specs but looks to be about 280 duration? Moderate lift. Made by Camshaft engineering in Brisbane, no longer exist. Dome top SU carbs Removing belt driven fan for thermo. Hi tech headers through 2 1/4 system 5spd manual Any guesses?

It runs and drives but no way I would take anyone in my family in it, needs brake work and has leaking valve stem seals. Waiting till I get my own shed before starting on that one.

No, was my sisters. 14 years in the making. Pity I couldn't have had the blue one ready as well.

Sorry to bother Zed Head and I should have asked at the same time but could you supply torque settings for main and conrods too. Thanks for the clearance info.

Can anyone help me with a few specs. I don't have my manual with me and I need to know the clearance specs for main and conrod bearings. Thanks

I have seen 240's on the net with the red cam cover before but after seeing Simo's I decided I should go that way too. Looks so cool with the wrinkle paint. Just need to source some Ramflo airfilters instead of big std airfilter.

I am mid rebuild at the moment. Found the L26 I bought has a Camshaft Engineering Cam (old Bris company) and Ported E88 head. Am using my 240k block, sump, pistons and rods. L26 crank, heads and dome top twin su carbs. 240 pistons shaved down 110 thou to compensate for longer rod length and will almost become flat top pistons. Also have the new extractors and 2.5 inch system.I know it will never be a big power engine but the cost is very minimal and I think it should go a bit better. Going to slide it in with the 5 spd hopefully over Christmas.

I am about to encounter the same problem and am considering a few options. I don't really want to redrill dipstick holes and replumb oil pickups. Option 1 would be to simply put the twin su's off the L26 on to the L24 and that's it. Option 2 would be to use one of my L24 blocks and fit the L26 crank in it. Would only really be up for main bearings, gaskets and seals?? They do fit don't they? Anyone encountered problems or thinks to watch out for when swapping cranks. Thanks Cam.

Was digging through the cupboard tonight and found something I bought a few years ago . The red one is from early 70's which I will never build and bought white one because I wasn't going to build red one. Like them best in boxes so won't build either. Not sure why I bought them really. Anyone else got any cool models?

There really was a blue one on Gumtree last night for a few hours. S.A I think, price was negotiable. Anyone know what it went for?

Now you have me worried. They all have the same part number so I figured they must be the same. All priced the same through hi tech but cheaper through exhaust shops probably because they are 100 years old and praying for someone to buy them. Fingers crossed. Painted mine today, cant afford hpc coating yet.

On the hi tech headers website hth065 fits a few models of L6 motors but think you will find the common element between each of those models is the steering type. Recirculating ball steering which those headers have to clear. I got the pipes today and look just like Adams. Will update when I trial fit them.

Ebay has them for $250 delivered, search the hi tech part number and comes up with patrol results. From hi tech they are $350.

I gave it away in Brisbane to a school that did mechanical studies. Had engine trouble which was going to cost me more to repair than the car was worth ( nothing at the time). There was a guy trying to sell a running and straight 240k coupe at the time for $150 and it sat there for weeks. If only I had a time machine I would go back and slap my self in the face.
