What are these areas supposed to look like? What do I need?
Hi all: I need to figure out what pieces I need to re-fill in these two kick panel areas. Does anyone have pics of what these areas are supposed to look like? And/or can list what pieces I need to be on the look out for? See pics of what mine look line now. There is nothing left on the driver side and on the passenger side, the fuse box does have a cover but that's about all that is there. I need to fill all of this in and get new carpet. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Oil recommendation
okay - hopefully an easy question for a Saturday. Just got my 260z and am going to change the oil today. Not sure how long the current oil has been in there. Looks ok and full but who knows. What type/brand do you all recommend? Will be light weekend driving in decent weather. Currently COLD here in the midwest Will change again in the late Spring. Thanks all!

My Datsun 240Z
Our girl would have been chewing up stuff. She could chew through tires - no kidding - at only 13 pounds. She was a tough old girl. Miss her

Good Day
Thanks - good to know. It was spotty again today. It works once the engine is warmed up which is weird. Good thing I don't mind quirky things. We have 5 inches of snow and will have 2 inches of ice on top of that by the AM. No driving for me for awhile

Holy Cow - what ya feeding that thing! I couldn't see the head so I thought it had to be a bully. That's the fattest Jack Terrier I ever laid eyes on. We had a Patterdale Terrier that just passed at age 14 - Zu Zu She was the best dog ever

Good Day
I nearly blew the engine in the Tempo - I drove it about 50 miles with no oil. Got home and told my dad - yeah it's making this really loud banging - he said "did you check the oil". Um - no Never did that again. What can I say - I was a 16 year old clueless girl. Rob- I'd say yes it is your mid-life crisis. I bought a horse at 37 and thought that was the end of it. But, now the car. Men die a few years earlier than women so you are right on track - HA. Good news for the day - the Z passed its safety inspection!!!! Tried to hit the DMV for plates and the workers were leaving as we are expecting "snowmageddon" here in da Lou. Our tax dollars at work (or not at work actually). So, I hit Auto Zone instead and am going to swap out some fluids. Have a great day all!

Nice Z and nice Frenchie? (French Bulldog)? I have a black and white Frenchie too Haven't take her for a ride in the Z yet but she is quite a car loving dog and will once I get better at driving it.

Good Day
I did It is still listed there but I got it for $1,000 less (my great negotiating skills - HA!) I felt a little bad though because they said a young/teenage boy kept coming in to look at it but never pulled the trigger. Not bad enough I guess to stop me from doing it. Ah well, makes up for that 1969 Firebird my dad ALMOST bought me when I was 16. I got a 1984 Ford Tempo instead - BLEECH

Oh and one more question (attention hog tonight) the muffler has a crack. Should I try to find a new/old stock OEM muffler or just one that fits? Tx!

Good Day
Okay - what is the significance of the "clean insulation on the fuel lines?" I guess I am glad they have been swapped. The engine is idling pretty low and I was worried it had something to do with the 260 flat top carbs. On a positive note - the tachometer was not working yesterday but spontaneously started working today which has been mastering the stick a bit easier. (Not that I am there yet )

Good Day
here are interior shots. What are the pieces called that are missing under the dash above the floor so I can search for them on ebay - kick panels? I would assume that ones for a 240z or early 260 would work? No A/C - bummer - I will have to refrain from driving once I start having hot flashes! HA!

Good Day
Oh Crap - It didn't ask me if I wanted to post my age - ah well - cat out of bag Yeah between this and the horse a bought a few years ago - I think should have staved off any mid-life crisis for awhile. Okay. I am afraid to post engine pics because I don't want to be told I have a train wreck on my hands. I am trying to find pics of the 260z vs the 240z carbs (what does the flat vs. the round look like?) to see if this one has been swapped like so many 260s so I have read. Not sure what to hope for. The 260s have many problems supposedly but if it hasn't been swapped and it's running fine (at least in my limited estimation) I guess I'm okay with that too. Here are two engine pics The interior need some work - driver seat has rip on side and floor carpet and kick panels are out (think that is what they are called) but the lack of rusted floors was good enough for me and everything else is intact.
